Morning came faster than you would've wished. Although being unfamiliar, you were beginning to enjoy being hold while sleeping. His large frame keeping you warm and sheltered from the cold air while his strong chest—
"Are you okay?" hearing the voice coming from outside.
You simply smiled to yourself as you strapped your blaster in place. Your bags were already packed and ready to go, thanks to Mando. As you came out of the cave, you're being greeted by your new favorite tin man already in his beskar. "Have you already eaten?" you asked smiling, but the smile quickly turned into confusion.
He handed a bowl to you, "I did, here, I made some for you." You took it as you watched him put the fire out. "We should get moving if we want to be back to the ship by sundown."
You nodded, taking a bite and started to walk. You couldn't help but notice how cold he was towards you. You tried not to think too much of it. Maybe he was just exhausted. I mean, you guys had a pretty rough couple of days. All of this was new to you both and not knowing exactly what was next was definitely toying with you. He's probably just still on edge, you told yourself.
After an hour of walking, you felt tired. None of you had said a single word to each other since you had left. Not that you cared much for it, but you were still concerned. "Where's that lake anyway? Are you sure we're going in the right direction?"
He halts, turning around as quickly, "are you saying that I'm wrong?"
His defensive tone left you shocked. "N-no I'm just wondering.. It's just that yesterday– "
"Yesterday what?" His voice was becoming harder.
You sighed, shaking your head, "nothing." but you heard the leather of his gloves cracking as he rolled his hands into fists. Without a word, he ignited his jetpack before taking off. "Hey! Where are you going??" You tried to shout louder but he was already gone. As you looked around you felt defeated. He was finally starting to open to you. And now you felt like it was back to square one. "I should've just stayed quiet. Why do I even care that he's gone? Why do I care if he doesn't talk to me? Ugh, this is just stupid..."
After a moment you finally calmed down, sitting on a boulder. Waiting for him to come back and he does. Hearing the noise of his jetpack coming closer, you see him coming down through the trees branches before landing.
"Where were you? I didn't even know if you were coming back.." Were the first words coming out of you. You were mad and it showed.
He took a deep breath, "You really thought I'd leave you here?" Saying as he walked pass you.
The fact that he looked so calm made you angrier for some reason. "I don't know, you just left me."
He sighed, "I was just looking for the lake." he answered in a cold voice. "Come.."
But you were too angry to even look at him. Frowning your brows and lips, you begin to walk in the opposite direction. "Where are you going?" You heard him say from behind, but you didn't bother to answer. "I see, using my own actions against me. Clever, you're a cleaver girl.." You just ignored him the best you could. Walking faster as you approached the ship. He didn't say a word as he followed you. Which pissed you off even more. Not only were you stuck on this planet, but you were stuck with a brute. A handsome, annoying, brute.
Arriving at the ship, you got in without even glancing back. Moving quickly and directly to your room. You didn't care about anything right now. Not him, not your family, not even this prison planet. You were feeling more alone than ever before. Even in training, when you were completely alone in the woods, you knew it would end at some point. But this, this was different. There was a possibility that this was it. That there was no way of going back. It might never end. You might never see your family again. None of them.
