TRIGGER WARNING
This chapter does include multiple mentions of s/a.
I don't usually mention the topic this much in one chapter, but as it shows part of
Amelia's backstory, it was unfortunately necessary.

CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO
[ Original Chapter ]

[ Los Angeles, California ]
[ Present Day ]

Olivia's legs burned as she ran. She had not real idea on where she was heading, she just ran. She did what her mother told her to do and ran without stopping.

The tears from her eyes blurred her vision so badly that she ran straight into somebody, and tumbled to the ground. She didn't see who it was at first and she didn't care. She scrambled back onto her feet and desperately tried to get away, but the stranger grabbed her arm and stopped her from going anywhere.

Terrified it was another bad guy, Olivia screamed and cried and desperately tried to free herself. It was only when she heard that soft familiar voice that she began to calm down.

She wiped her eyes with the back of her hand and saw Athena kneeling down in front of her, deep concern written all over her face.

"Sweetheart, what happened to you?" Athena asked, gently tucking the young girls hair behind her ears.

"Somebody took my mommy." Olivia whimpered.

Athena frowned. "What?"

"I was in bed when I heard mommy shouting and when I got up to see-" Olivia sniffled and wiped the snot away with the sleeve of her pyjama top. "-and this big man was hurting her. I never saw him before but Mommy looked so scared of him. Mommy told me to run, so I did but I don't know where I'm going."
