Bailey's POV
Bailey woke up when the sun was barely noticeable and the sound of Tanner getting out of the bed. He rolled over and grabbed his phone off the nightstand. It was already 6:37 a.m. so he decided to get out of bed too. The two hugged at the door of his room after Tanner cleaned up.
"Be careful not to be seen," He whispered to Tanner.
"I will," He responded before closing the door with a grin.
Bailey took a quick shower making sure to scrub his hair well and brushed his teeth. He grabbed a brush to make sure there were no knots before he went to his walk-in closet. He tucked a white shirt into his fresh pair of black slacks and a matching black belt then threw his green camo Burberry zip to keep him warm from the now December air. Bailey left his room with a bright smile and went down to the main entrance to get in the awaiting car. The door shut behind him as he buckled his seat belt. Bailey checked the time, it was now 8:04 when the car left the palace gates to pick up Maisie.
---------
The half-hour-long drive was quiet with Bailey occasionally adjusting his position. The car slowed down and pulled into the pebbled driveway where Maisie was just locking her door. Quickly the driver got out and opened the other door for her and she had a matching smile to Bailey's. She carefully set her purse onto the floorboard and buckled herself in.
"Bailey..." She said wide-eyed.
"What? Is something wrong?" He worried.
"I can see a little bit of a hickey on your neck," She says taking out some makeup from her bag.
"Oh, uhhh, could you cover it up?" He asks.
"Your lucky I have foundation that matches you, one of my friends forgot it," She sighs giving him a, "We're gonna talk about this later" look.
The next hour went by very, very, slowly.
"What happened exactly?" Maisie says while dabbing the bottom of his neck.
"Remember how I said I had a friend," He blushed.
"No way!" She gasped, "Tanner?".
He looked down and shyly nodded his head. The rest of that hour was him explaining his situation-ship with Tanner and how it came to be. Bailey was still surprised, even a little confused, on how it had happened.
---------
The car pulled into a farm's muddy driveway. The two got out of the car careful to not step in any mud with Bailey almost slipping on slush.
"Welcome Your Highness," A bright blonde said opening the main door.
He had talked to her the week before about coming over. The two were led into the warm by her while being flanked by a guard. Bailey could hear puppies barking and whining. A moment later the woman stopped in a room filled with a few different puppies running around. Some ran towards him and Maisie, gathering at their feet and jumping. He looked at the various colors and noticed a small-looking Irish Setter towards the back of the room with a fluffy white Samoyed that stood out. Immediately he walked towards them and crouched down to pet them. The Irish Setter had a very dark mahogany coat with various white spots and big brown eyes. Bailey quickly picked him up and let Maisie pet the dog. He played with the two puppies for a few minutes before deciding this dog would be just right for him.
"Miss, could I adopt this one?" He kindly asked while looking at the Irish Setter.
"Of course Your Highness," She responded, "I'll get the paperwork,".
He didn't expect this to be so quick, he always heard it was hard to pick out a dog to bring home. Bailey let the puppy back down to play with its friend. After signing the paperwork he went to pick him up but realized that it would be harsh of him to leave the dog without its friend.
"Miss, is that Samoyed also available?" He said pointing towards it.
"Yes, I have its paperwork right here," She said handing the papers to him.
He quickly signed the papers and handed them back, he had one of his guards grab his checkbook from the car so the lady could have the payment. It all went by quickly and now he was being hanged two bags for the dogs. He gave them to the guards to put in the car so he and Maisie could bring the two puppies out."Thank you so much!" Bailey said before his door closed.
The car drove away to a pet store where Maisie got her stuff for Gus. The two puppies sat on the middle seat with two small elephant chew toys.
"We can name them when we return to the palace," He said smiling.
The pet store was near downtown Stockholm so Bailey's two guards were more alert. The two fluffy dogs were being carried because they didn't have leashes yet.
---------
The paparazzi followed them out of the store and towards the royal car. Bailey carried his new friends beaming like a new dad while Maisie carried three large bags. All four were smiling while the two guards pushed through the crowd to protect the Prince and his company.
"Crown Prince, are you two dating?" Someone shouted.
"Was the denial false?" Another goes.
"Whose dogs are these?" A female asks.
Bailey is quickly pushed into the black car and shuttled back to the palace. The ride was only a few minutes because there wasn't much traffic near the Stockholm palace. The doors were quickly opened again when they stopped in front of the entrance. Bailey hopped out and ran to the house with Maisie following behind. The staff carried the three bags to a sitting room, specifically with no antiques.
The room was quickly filled with tiny barks and pitter-patter from small paws.
"I think he should be named Fabian," Bailey said pointing at the small Setter.
"And she can be Florence," Maisie said holding the Samoyed, "Flora for short".
"I like that," He said while grabbing the collars.
Fabian's neck was now wrapped with a Burberry checked collar while Flora had an Outlander plaid collar.
The rest of the afternoon was spent playing with the new puppies and the palace being filled with laughter.
