Rees' Bouquet

Akane's POV

When I wasn't dizzy or pale anymore, I checked the clock to see it was 11:20. When I went out to the front, there was a line of people at the register. "Sage?" He turned around just as he was giving a paper over to a man. "Akane, they would like to preorder some flowers. In the next couple of months, everyone in the line wants one flower 5 per with different colors."

"Hmm, may I ask the reason for so many flowers?" I asked the man. "You may, we have a ceremony for every kid that gains their soulmate marks, in our community. We know it is usually whenever they turn 5 years old. We even do it for the people that have it later. But we do need to get the flowers ready. "

"May I ask for how long have you done it? And does your community usually do preorders for the persons ceremony?" I asked her. "Usually yes, but because we also do it for the people that have it later. But often there are the parents of the kids that must get them 5 flowers to do the ceremony with them."

"Ah ok." I thought about it. That's why the woman wanted 5 sunflowers. "Well let me get the preorder paper," I crouched down to get a few papers. "If you could write down the color of the flower." He nodded his head before starting the preorder paper. After about 4 people the preorders were done, I checked to see what time they needed to be done.

They were due in a few months, luckily after our other preorders. I checked to see what time it was, it was 12 o'clock. I had 30 minutes before my break, so I went to the back to see what other seed packets we would need next for our preorders and what we need to restock for the store.

As I was finished getting seeds for the restocking, I looked over to the clock in the back to see it had been 28 minutes. I went over to our time paper/electronic(?) to sign out, when Cynthia came to the back room.

"Aka, your soulmate is waiting for you, you can go ahead and clock out, Seth and Forest should be here soon." She told me. I nodded my head before clocking out. I got my things from the locker room and went to the front where Rio was at.

"You ready?" He asked. "Yes, I am. Where will we be going?" I asked him. We stepped out of the store, going in a direction. "I was thinking we could do a café, but before we go, would you want to meet one of our soulmates?"

I thought about it for a bit, "Sure I don't mind, what about our other soulmate?" I asked him. He smiled down at me. "Well, right now he is working, we can pick a day where we are all free so you can meet him. Our soulmate we are meeting works a little bit away, so he will be a bit, but I know he is excited to meet you."

Once we got into the café, we ordered our drinks and food. Rio also got extra food and drinks, so I'm assuming that's what our other soulmate likes. "Rio, you didn't need to pay for mine." I told him once we sat down with our food and drinks.

"Don't worry about it darling. I don't mind paying for it." He said with a smile. I blushed a little.

*Ding*

I looked over to the door to see a man standing at the doorway. "Alex, over here!" Rio said. The man, Alex, looked over and started walking over.

"Hello love," Alex kissed Rio's cheek, before turning over to me. He scanned his head up and down at me before smirking. "Well, if this isn't our last mate, I'm Alexander, but you may call me Alex. What is your lovely name?" He said, sitting down next to me. I blushed one more time.

"My name is Akane," I told him. "It's nice to meet you." He put his arm over the back of my chair. "Well, Akane, why don't we get to know each other and maybe I could also get your phone number." He passed me his phone, while I did that both Rio and Alex had some small talk.

"Here." I passed his phone back. He checked the phone before smirking again. "If you don't mind me asking, what kind of powers you have and what is your job?" Alex asked.

"I have nature powers, and I own the florist shop called Rees Bouquets. Although, I do try not to use my powers while working there." Both Alex and Rio looked interested. "That's really cool, are there any drawbacks to your power." Alex asked.

I looked down a little bit, a bit embarrassed. "Yes actually, I can't grow a group of flowers from the seed at a time. I get dizzy easily because of it. But for other plants, I'm able to grow more of. It's just flowers because I try to do it naturally. If it's a vine with a flower on it, I'm able to do that easily."

"Hmm, that is why you were pale." Rio said. Alex looked over at Rio alarmed, before looking over at me. I blushed a little at the attention, "I'm fine, before we came here, I was actually taking a break from it." I wanted to get to know more of both Alex and Rio before I had to leave to go back.

"What kind of powers do you have Alex?" I asked looking up at him. He squinted his eyes, before relaxing them. "I have elemental powers, so basically anything elemental, I do have some drawbacks, but I haven't gotten to that point in a long time." Alex squinted at the time.

"Akane, what time do you have to be back?" I looked over at the clock on the wall. I had about 10 minutes. "I will have to walk over there now. I have 10 more minutes."

"Well, let us walk with you, do you mind if I add you to a group chat with our other soulmate?" Alex asked as we all got up. I picked up my drink and trash, putting my trash in the trash can. And started walking with Alex and Rio after they put their trash up.

"I don't mind that, I still have some questions that I would like to know." I told him. I looked over at Rio to see him smiling. "What time do you get off Akane?" Rio asked. I looked up thinking about it. "I get off at 5pm today. If you want to do something after I'm fine with that, but I would like to head to my apartment if we go out anywhere." I told him.

"We will speak with Dom about it. For now, wehave reached your work, have a great day at work, text us when you finish." Riosaid. I looked to see indeed we did reach my work. I looked over at both to saygoodbye, they both hugged me as they did so. Once we finished, I headed insidewith a blush on my face.

I find it funny that I finished the last two chapters sometime near their published date for the next year.
