Demons and Butterflies (Book aspect)

Rose POV

I was nervous. There were so many ways Kaz's plan could go wrong and not enough time. We were going to destroy Van Erk's sugar silo's and we were going to do it tonight. Nina had refused to help unless Kaz got the grisha out of the city. So Kaz and Wylan were going to get Van Erk's seal. Inej, Nina and I were dealing with the silo's and Jesper and Matthias were going to stay with Kewi at black veil. I took five bottles from Inej and went to the far silo's. Our plan was to cover five each and meet in the middle. I crawled up the first silo and poured the weevil into it. Once satisfied I closed the top and walked the wire after getting the signal from Nina. I was on my forth silo when I felt the air cackle around me.

"Rose." I heard a voice say behind me. I spun around to see a female face glaring into my own. I rose from my crouch and looked the women in the eye. She had shoulder length brown hair and golden brown eyes. She wore a dress of white and a light brown cloak was flowing behind her, the hood covering most of her face. She was stunning and I had no doubts she had her share of men, but that wasn't the most striking thing about this women. Her left arm, chest and neck were lit by a pale blue light. The source coming from the lightning from her hand.

"Who are you." I asked taking a few small steps back.

"I am Sapphire, but most people call me Le mort bleu." 

"So your the blue death." I replied.

"At least your smart. To bad you'll be dyeing tonight." I drew on of the axes from my back. Arrows were no use for this. She grabbed the axe handle and I felt a shock go through my arms. I struggled not to scream as the shock grew more intense and my arm began to heat up. I summoned some wind and knocked her back to the edge of the wire. I drew my bow and shot two arrows at her, both landing in her side. I heard commotion on the ground and saw Nina surrounded by people. I recognized some of their faces from the Dime lions. Hope Pekka won't miss them. I thought as I shot the bow over and over, killing each one. Nina looked up at me and gestured behind me, a look of pure fear on her features. I turned around as Sapphire kicked me onto the ground. I gripped the edge of the silo. She almost kicked me off it.

"Maybe your not so smart after all. It will take more than that to kill me, little Phantom." She put her hands to my back and it spasmed, a bolt of electricity going through me. I flipped over and put my hands to her side, igniting them with inferi fire. She winced and drew back. I saw a figure falling and summoned wind to stop Inej before she hit the ground. Or what I hoped was Inej. Based off the fear in Nina's eyes I assumed it was.

"You get distracted quite easily Phantom." Sapphire said as she went to shock me again. I rolled out of the way and jumped on the wire.

"It's called watching out for your crew." I retorted, backing up slowly. She hit me with another bolt and I shook, falling off the wire. I gripped it with my hand and struggled to pull myself up through the pain. One glance down told me both Inej and Nina were safe and they were vary much fearing for my safety.

"Well little Phantom, I've had my fun for tonight. We will meet again but for now I'll leave you with this. She than threw I knife at me and I entered a whole new level of pain.

I didn't even notice that I landed until I felt Inej and Nina lift me onto my feet.

"I'm not going to make it guys." I said as they put me down in an ally. 

"You will It's just a stab wound." Nina said back.

"No it - was - laced - with -fire." I gasped before screaming in pain. Inej paled and Nina turned to her confused.

"Part of her power is inferni. It's said that Sainta Alina killed the Darkling by using his powers against him." Inej explianed. Now Nina paled.

"Where's - Kaz?" I gasped out before screaming again.

"What?" Nina asked.

"Where's - Kaz? Nina- please- I need -to -- see him." I said breathing heavily.

"I'm right here Rose." Kaz said as he knelt beside me.  I looked up at him and smiled dispite the pain. I had wanted to see him before I died. I brushed my hand against his cheek and dropped it, the world turning black. Kaz's words chased me into the dark.
