Zombie attack (a billdip au)

Dipper's POV

I was startled awake when Bill sat up. "Bill, what are you doing?" I asked, rubbing my eyes. He sucked in a breath.

"Oh Pine Tree!" He tried to put on a smile. "Sorry I didn't mean to wake you." He told me while he wiped his face. I sat up quickly and put a hand on his shoulder.

"Hey, what's wrong?" I wiped a tear that was running down his cheek. "Nightmare?" I asked. Bill leaned into my hand and slowly nodded.

"Yeah, nightmare."

"You wanna talk about it?" He shook his head. "Are you sure? I'll listen." Bill reached his arms out and wrapped them around me.

"I'm sure, don't worry Pine Tree." I wrapped my arms around him.

"Okay, I won't push you, I'm here if you need me though." Bill nodded against my shoulder.

"I know." I glanced at the clock. It was 6:30. We laid back down still entangled in each other's arms.

"We gotta get up soon." I told him quietly. He sighed and tightened his grip.

"I know." He told me. "Tempted to just stay right here though." I laughed.

"Yesterday you were dragging me around because we had to do stuff, and now you want to stay like this?" Bill rolled his eyes.

"I wanted to stay yesterday too, thank you very much." I sighed.

"Yet you still made me get up, we got half an hour."

"You're no fun Pine Tree." he whined.

"I will leave this bed." I told him.

"No," he muttered, burying his face into my shoulder. "Don't leave," he mumbled. "Please." he sounded...sad? Was he about to cry?

"Hey, are you okay?" I leaned back and gently guided Bill's face in front of mine. "Hey hey hey. Bill, what happened? What's wrong?" I cupped his face in my hands. "Talk to me." Bill wiped his eyes.

"Sorry, I shouldn't-"

"Do not say you shouldn't be crying, it's okay." I gently ran my fingers through his hair. "Just tell me what's wrong," I pulled Bill close to me and he laid on my chest.

"In my nightmare," Bill gulped, "I, I did something stupid and you left the grounds, I, I was too late and," Bill froze for a moment. I combed my fingers through his hair again.

"Hey, breathe Bill." I told him gently. Bill took a deep breath.

"By the time I found you, you were surrounded. I wasn't fast enough,you were," He stopped then took another breath. "Then I woke up." Bill rubbed his eyes. I wrapped my arms around him tightly.

"It was just a dream okay?" I mumbled. "I'm right here with you, I'm holding you and you're on my chest in your bed. Nothing's going to happen right now alright?" Bill turned and rolled off of me. He curled up next to my side.

"Okay." he said quietly. I closed my eyes and wrapped an arm around Bill. He went closer to me. I heard Bill scratching at his bandages.

"Hey, I told you last night, don't scratch them." Bill kept scratching.

"How'd you know?" I started moving and opened my eyes. I grabbed Bill's wrists and held them above his head.

"You're not very slick about it Dorito, now stop scratching." Bill just smiled at me. "What?" I asked. "What's with the face?"

"Position." Was all he said to me. I took a second, turns out I had climbed on top of him with me holding his hands above his head. I felt my face slowly heat up but I attempted a straight face.

"Shut it." I let go of one of his hands and wiped a tear that was still on his face. Bill leaned into my hand, and I rubbed my thumb against his cheek. I smiled softly and let go of Bill's other hand. I hit my forehead against his lightly. He smiled at me and chuckled. I smiled back. "Jerk."

"You love me." He said. I rolled my eyes and hummed a response. I laid on top of him and he wrapped his arms around me again. I closed my eyes, letting myself relax again. Bill mumbled something into my hair.

"What did you say?"

"Nothing Pine Tree," he told me softly. I looked up at him.

"You sure?" He smiled and nodded.

"I'm sure, we got twenty minutes. Just relax." I smiled back.

"Okay." 

I have the next two chapters written! I just completely forgot to post. I'm so smart. The next two chapters are long than this I promise. I'll either post again later today or tomorrow. Stay safe, stay healthy, but most importantly, keep on keepin' odd everybody!
