Best friends to lovers trope. It's such a cliche trope that it seems too predictable to some people but for San, it was his favorite. He didn't know when his interest for this trope started but through his hazy memory, the sudden change in his preferred romance cliches changed during his pre-debut days.
At first he wondered why he suddenly liked that trope. Why did he feel so content seeing two best friends fall in love with each other and live happily ever after? But soon he realized and oh boy, did he understand it.
For a couple of months, he totally discarded the idea. Forgetting about it and letting it eat him out in his subconscious. He would be filled with butterflies and a palpating heart when his presence entered the realm of his world.
His wooyoung. His best friend. And the guy he had the biggest crush on, well scratch that, he was in love with his best friend. The guy he promised to call his soulmate.
He didn't say anything, he was pretty good at hiding his feelings. They were abnormally close, closer than your normal best friends would be. They were two peas in a pod, they thought alike and were joint to the hip. Their hands would always be over each other, looking for hugs and kisses.
But heart has its limit and one day his feelings exploded. It came as a shock to wooyoung as he didn't know what to feel. Things got rocky and their members were stressed. San faced his worst fate with that stupid confession.
However, wooyoung realized his feelings in the absence of san's presence and they became a couple under the moonlight of the night of 5 December, 2019.
For san's, the relationship with wooyoung was like those seen in movies. They were still best friends, still joined to the hip with their crazy antics but now something more special lied between them. It was pure love and adoration.
At the start of the relationship, the jealousy for one another was undeniably more. They were just young adults after all. They would get sulky when the other would get too close to the members.
But after talking and voicing their concerns with each other and their members, they understood and promised to not get jealous. The members were their family and being close with your brothers wasn't something to be jealous about.
Since then they have seen different sides of each other and San has remembered every bit of it. From their first eye contact to their first kiss that felt like fireworks in the sky to even their first night where they understood each other on a whole new level, tangled with each other's heated body while whispering "I love you" to the other in muffled tired voices.
But alas, people grow and so do their preferences and their love. And now almost 5 years of dating and devoting, San finds himself in a dilemma as he chews on his nails with anxiety.
