"Eddie made that for me," Frank mentioned as he noticed Wally looking at it.
"It looks nice, Frank. Maybe I can make one for you too," Wally pondered.
"Oh, there's no need. Anyway, I'll go get you some tea," Frank gently said before walking off to the kitchen. Wally stood there blankly.
"Oh, and go ahead and sit down wherever!" Frank shouted from the kitchen. Wally nodded to himself and sat down on the couch before staring at a nearby red apple, admiring it.
Frank returned with a couple red apples in a bowl, along with some tea. He set them next to Wally before sitting down next to him and setting the butterfly plush neatly on the table. He grabbed his own mug in hand and sipped the warm liquid.
Wally stared at his own mug, not knowing what to do with it other than stare.
"Wally? Are you going to drink the tea? Or would you rather simply hold it and admire it?" Frank asked, keeping a calm and polite tone.
"I would like to hold it, neighbor. Is that alright?" Wally asked calmly.
"Of course, Wally. That's quite alright. Let me know if you need anything," Frank replied softly before sipping his tea again.
There was a moment of silence after Frank finished his tea and Wally kept staring at his own, before Frank broke the silence, "Wally? May I ask why you decided to get that butterfly plush for me?" he asked softly.
"It was on the shelf. It was a butterfly. When I see butterflies, I think of you," Wally explained simply.
"Oh, well, thank you again, Wally. I love the butterfly. Though, why was it so sudden?" Frank asked curiously, using a gentle voice.
"What do you mean, neighbor?" Wally asked.
"Well, you don't usually do this without warning or at a completely random time. I appreciate it, but what led to this anyway?" Frank asked. He knew something was up. It was hard for him to explain out loud, but he just knew something was amiss.
"I don't understand. I went to the shelf and saw the butterfly plush. I got it and came to you," Wally replied, confused.
"Before that. Why'd you go look at the shelf anyway?" Frank asked, 'Maybe something happened...' he thought.
"Hm... I was hanging out with Barnaby, and we went to Howdy's shop. Barnaby and Howdy were talking. I went to the shelf and grabbed the plush. Then I went to you, neighbor," Wally explained.
"You were with Howdy and Barnaby? Why'd you just... leave?" Frank asked.
"I don't know. I was trying to talk to Barnaby, but he told me to give him a moment. I waited, but he never said anything to me. I think that made me sad, but I don't know. That's when I went to the shelf," Wally explained.
"Ohhhhh... So you went to the shelf for a distraction from Barnaby ignoring you?" Frank asked.
"I don't know. I think so...?" Wally replied unsurely.
"Well, I'm sorry to hear that. I don't think he meant to make you sad," Frank pointed out, trying to be reassuring.
"I know. I don't like how I was just sad all because of Barnaby not saying anything again," Wally replied, "I think I feel..."
"Guilty?"
"Yeah... I think I feel guilty about being sad when I shouldn't feel sad," Wally replied.
"That's okay. We all have unexplainable emotions. You have every right to feel sad, guilty, frustrated, or anything else. And we can't control our emotions either. They are just there. You can either push them back, which is unhealthy, or let your body feel those emotions," Frank explained with a small smile.
