PAUSE! [MHA x OP!Reader]

12. Exam gone wrong

I flew over the trapped people and shot my wings in front of me as I slashed the giant robot with a smirk I couldn't hold back. With my wings longer than its height and a temperature that made the metal instantly melt at contact, the robot was sliced in half, falling down the opposite side of the trapped people.

I did it, but to what cost?

I foolishly displayed my power when I had decided to lay low.

Oh well.

There was only one thing I could do now.

I closed my eyes and withdrew my wings, making me and the boy fall rapidly towards the ground. I fake fainted. I wasn't too worried though. The boy in my arms let out a surprised scream, but then we levitated again, and I felt the familiar heat around my body. The difference was that this time, it didn't come from my own back, but from the blue-eyed blonde that was holding me tightly.

"TIME'S... UP!!!"

---Bakugo's POV (a few moments earlier)---

"SEVENTY-THREE"

I blasted another two-pointer.

"SEVENTY-FIVE"

This was too damn easy. I was gonna place first, no doubt.

I will be number one.

I was about to blast another weak ass one-pointer, when suddenly the ground trembled and there was a loud crash somewhere nearby. The fuck? Was it the obstacle the loud pain in the ears had talked about?

Soon enough, I saw a giant robot on the other street. My eyes widened when I looked up at the tall robot.

'Could I win against that?'

I smacked my head and came back to my senses. Of course I could. I'm number one. I'll just avoid it since it's fucking useless, it doesn't even give any damn points. A group of horrified extras were running away from the robot, stumbling on each other and crying out in horror.

"LESS THAN TWO MINUTES LEFT!"

"Tsk, weaklings." I mumbled, before going to find more robots in the area.

I had just exploded a one-pointer when suddenly, an overwhelming heat made it hard to breathe. I looked up and was met by the sight of a h/c-ette girl with gigantic, flaming wings, flying above me. It all went by in the blink of an eye.

The girl dived down and took a horrified boy (tsk, weakling), then sliced the robot in half with her wings. Just like that. But the second the robot collapsed with the ground, her wings dispersed, and they started falling.

They were too far for me to fucking see what was going on after that, but I think the boy used the girl's quirk to fly down again. The wings were much smaller though, and he flew like a drunkard. A copying quirk? Or her relative? Whatever, they were both weak extras. To faint after an attack like that... pathetic.

"TIME'S... UP!!!"

"GODDAMMIT"

I kicked some piece of metal in frustration that I've been too distracted with the zero-pointer to score any more points.

I was frustrated, but not only because of that, I think. At the back of my head was a nagging thought that wouldn't leave me in peace.

'I couldn't have done that.'
