PAUSE! [MHA x OP!Reader]

12. Exam gone wrong

"I swear this cannibal is too obsessed with chicken." I mumbled.

"You have wings too you know!" His voice said from kitchen.

"At least I'm not permanently a fucking bird!" I laughed out to my defense.

My relationship with Keigo was developing the more we hung out, and we found ourselves more comfortable around each other than when we first met.

I learned that there is more to his character than his heroic, calm side, and that he could also be quite the trickster, which sat right with me, since it was entertaining.

He learned that I had some sort of obsession with thrills and ended up buying a whole lot of horror movies and thrillers, though they ended up being not thrilling at all, in my opinion. Some still had a nice plot though!

We also decided it was okay for me to hang out with him outside, if it wasn't too crowded, and if we both used something to hide our identities.

I was about to pull a blanket over my legs when I, through the window, saw the mailman dropping something at the mailbox and driving away. It could've been the acceptation letter from UA! I stood up and walked up to the front door. I put on some rabbit slippers that were already here when I moved in and opened the door.

"I'M GETTING THE MAIL CHICKENMAN!"

"ALRIGHT!"

And so, I ran down the path toward the gates where the mailbox stood. It was cold since I was only in my PJs, so I quickly fumbled with the keys and opened the door to the mailbox. I took out a letter, closed the mailbox, and sprinted back inside.

"Sooo warm!" I muttered as I dropped down on the couch.

I held up the letter and looked at it. It was a pretty basic letter, with a red seal with the initials U.A.

I was a little nervous. Would I reach my goal of a rank lower that fifteenth? Well, it was all up to the risk factor, the rescue points. I wasn't all that worried though. It wasn't like they could give me one of the top ranks just for one heroic action anyways.

"I'M GONNA OPEN THE UA LETTER NOW!"

"HEY, HEY, WAIT UP KID I WANNA SEE!"

And with that, Keigo came running from the kitchen and plopped down beside me on the couch.

"Now you can open it."

I ripped open the letter and inside was a little disk. I held it up and inspected it skeptically.

"What the actual-"

Keigo took it away from my hand and slammed it on the coffee table, making a hologram appear.

"I AM HERE AS A PROJECTION!" A man who I recognized as the number one hero said. I didn't know he worked for UA.

I thought it would only be a letter, but I didn't mind. This seemed like more fun!

"You may be surprised to see me here, young L/n, but truth is, I am working as a teacher in UA from now on!"

Ah, so this was news, not something I missed.

"Now, you passed the written exam with an overall good score, but on the practical exam, you only got fifteen points, which is not quite enough to pass..."

What?! But I thought there would be rescue points too?! Did they change the exam after I stole the files?

"... BUT! That is not all!"

Oh. I see. He was only being dramatic.

"Even though you were at your limit, you still pushed yourself to the end, to protect those in need!"

Not entirely true, thanks for believing it.

"And you see, the exam the other day was not only graded by villain points. We also give out... RESCUE POINTS!"

He then explained how they were given out, which I didn't listen to until he said my name.

"L/n Y/n, sixty rescue points!"

I froze and stared at the projection in front of me.

"That results in seventy-five points in total, bringing you all the way to second place! Congratulations on passing the exam, young L/n! I'll see you at the beginning of the new semester in class 1-A!"

Doshi burst out laughing and my eye twitched.

Now why would they do this to me?! I let out an annoyed sigh and leaned back into the cushions. Keigo was watching me, amused by the whole situation.

"You did great Y/n. Why the long face? Second is pretty impressive." He said with a grin.

"Yes, but I kind of hoped I wouldn't get on the scoreboard y'know."

"Ah, well, it's not too bad. You only got fifteen villain points while first place got seventy-six, most eyes will definitely be on him." He assured me.

I took a look at the scoring board again.

1. Katsuki Bakugo: Villain points: 76 Rescue points : 0

It could be that hothead from my battle center. The blond explosive guy. Yeah, he seemed like someone who'd focus on scoring rather than helping, and he had a good amount of power.

I searched the board for a Denki Kaminari, but he wasn't there. Hopefully he still got in. One other student from the list caught my attention though.

8. Izuku Midoriya: Villain points: 0 Rescue points: 60

Zero villain points, but sixty rescue points? Was that even possible? Did he, too, know about the point system? It could also be that he had an unfavorable quirk for the exam. A healing quirk perhaps.

Other than those two and myself I guess, the list seemed pretty normal. Well, now I could only wait for school to start! I smiled brightly to myself as I thought of how high school on Earth would be. I couldn't wait!

I know Bakugo got 77 points originally, but this time he was, y'know, distracted, so he missed one. It's not a mistake y'all haha.

Btw, this hasn't been a problem yet, but since I haven't mentioned it before, please do not make any rude comments towards me or others if you comment, or give any critisism that is straight out mean. I know this story isn't the best, or not the most including, but this is a story I'm writing for myself, and only publishing on 抖阴社区 in case someone enyojs it. I'm open to ideas and inspiration for the story, but I won't change it because people don't like it. I'm saying this as I am not yet sure about what love interest/s (Y/n) will have, and I know that can be a topic were many are opposed to specific characters, so if you don't like the love interest/s, I suggest you either leave or just bear with it, hahaha.
