Obviously this will be a marine mission, since life as we know it began in the sea. also since most of the lifeforms from this time were all soft-bodied organisms (and mostly sessile), you're gonna need to be extra careful when carrying and transporting them back to the present day to avoid damaging them. but since they're all soft and squishy they'd be perfect for the new touch tank!

Because Earth's atmosphere was incredibly toxic during this time due to there being no terrestrial plants, while on land you have to wear a respirator in order to breathe or else you will suffocate and die. not that's going to matter, since there's nothing to see on land as life was still restricted to the ocean during the precambrian.
