My Fate

"God, it hurts so bad."

"Let me see."He removes my hand and leans in, examining the wound on my neck. I stare at his eyes as they darken slowly.

"How did you get this? It looks exactly like a poison injection wound I used to get."

"Because it is exactly that."He looked at me puzzled.

"Liam was here, I walked in the room and he grabbed me, talked a bunch of nonsense and what not—Then I screamed your name, he got mad and injected something in my neck saying I can't tell you anything if I don't remember."

"He is slower than I thought, he probably injected you with a short timed sleeping pill, he thought it was the foggy memory one."Nasius says and laughs.

I stared into Kingston's eyes as he stared into mine, they were dark again, dark and focused on the bruise on my neck.

"This is what I meant when I said you are fighting with a kid, Kingston, he doesn't even know what injections he uses, he's no damn threat."

"I wouldn't be so sure about that. He said he would harm one of our kids if I tell you he was here."

"He won't do anything, Kingston added and lifted me off the ground. He put me on the bed carefully and took my shoes off.

"Lay here and rest, I'm going to fire the guards that allowed him to walk around this house like he owns it."

"No, don't do that, he was here before we were, I don't know how but he was, the guards didn't do anything, are you even listening to me?" He doesn't answer, instead he covers me with a blanket and plants a kiss on my forehead.

"Kingston, please don't do something stupid, we just got here."

He sighed and sat beside me."We came here to keep you and the kids safe, it's been half an hour and I already failed,look at your neck, Adelaine, It's all bruised because I failed to protect you."

"It's not your fault, nobody could have guessed he would be here, don't put the blame on yourself, but don't go and rage at people right now either...stay here and be with me, please? What he said to me scared me, my body is still shivering at the thought of it, I don't want to go through it alone.

Nasius cleared his throat, catching our attention."I mean I can cuddle you, it's no big deal."

Kingston grabbed a pillow and threw it at his head.

"Don't piss me off right now, go tell Dove and Khalin to sleep with the kids, and call more security around the house."

Nasius rolls his eyes and winks at me.

"Only because miss princess is hurt and I don't want her stressed."He waves and run out the room before Kingston had another chance to throw something at him.

"I'm seriously thinking of disowning him."I smile and trace my finger across his jawline.

"He's just doing it to annoy you, he has no interest in me don't worry."

"He better not, Liam is enough of a pain as it is..."He paused and looked at my neck, sadness filling his eyes.

I grab his face and make him look at me." Stop, I'm okay, it's just a little bruise, nothing I can't handle."

"I never said you couldn't handle it, it just hurts me that I put you in a position where you have to do it–"I cut him off with a kiss.

"Only thing we all have to do is die, okay? don't think about Liam anymore, or my bruise. Lay here with me and sleep instead, we can figure the rest out tomorrow, deal?"
