Last night, I had the best sleep of my life. And I know it was because I slept in his arms, without worrying about him leaving again, disappearing by the time the sun rises.

It was ten in the morning when I forced myself to get out of bed, noticing he already woke up. I looked out the window and my heart swelled with love from the sight in front of me.

He was playing with the kids, chasing Princess as Evander chased him, trying to stop him from catching her.

Smiling, I grab my phone from the nightstand and open the camera, pressing the record button.
I record them for twenty seconds, zooming in on their smiling faces and letting out a laugh when Evander jumps on Kingston's back, causing him to trip and almost land on his face.

Like he felt my eyes on him, he looks up, his smile growing bigger as he waves at me.
I end the recording and open the window, shaking my head."You need to be more careful, baby."I shout.

"All good, beautiful. Come down with us until breakfast is done."

"Who's making it?"

"Dove."He replies, making a grimace.

Guess we'll be starving then.

"I'll be right down."I say and grab my satin robe from the chair, then make my way downstairs.

"Morning, sunshine."Nasius smiles at me while whisking a bowl full of something, knowing how horrible him and Dove are at cooking, it might as well be poison.

"Good morning, what are you two making?"

"Pancakes, eggs, and a fruit salad."Dove says, showing me the banana in her hand.

"Sounds amazing, I'll be in the garden with Kingston and the kids, make sure you make enough for everyone, I can't wait to try it."I lie with a smile on my face.

I never had the heart to tell them that eating a spoon full of shampoo would be safer than taking a bite of something they made since cooking helps them bond and get along well, so I figured a white lie would help---not whiter than Dove's chicken that's for sure.

Nasius throws me a wink and I walk to the backyard. The light wind breezes through my clothes as I step on the frosty air, sending a tremble down my spine.

Evander looks in my direction and jumps happily."Come, mommy. Dad said he could lift you, me, and Princess all together."

Kingston nods, smiling confidently."Damn straight, I spend half of my time with your mom over my shoulder, she always used to run from me when she was mad."

"That's because you're annoying when we argue, all you want to do is hug and kiss. It's hard to stay mad at you."I say, walking up to him. He wraps his arms around my waist and pulls me in for a kiss.
