I sit on the bleachers, my eyes fixated on the football field below. The sound of cheers and whistles fill the air, creating amazing energy that echoes through the crowd.I notice Gavi making his way to the railings, calling Sophia over as she gets up excitedly. I smile their way as I look behind Gavi to see Pedri following behind him.
He calls me over as I get up, frowning. His eyes drift to my shirt before he smiles, looking back into my eyes.
"You look good in my clothes." He greets as I cross my arms, "narcissistic much?" I mock, leaning against the railing and he chuckles.
"Why'd you call me over? Wouldn't your fangirls go crazy if they saw you talking to me?" He shrugs, looking around for a moment before he looks back at me.
"I don't care, I feel like you'd be my lucky charm." He teases as I lightly smack his arm, causing him to mumble an 'ow'.
"So you're just using me so you can score?" I ask as he acts like he's thinking, placing his hand on his chin, "pretty much, yeah."
I roll my eyes as he looks behind him for a moment before he looks at Gavi, "we gotta go." He says and Gavi nods, saying his goodbyes before he runs towards the tunnel.
"Good luck." I say and Pedri smiles before walking away, following Gavi to the tunnel.
Sophia and I go back to our seats and wait a few minutes before both teams make their way to the field.
I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and excitement. I loved watching them play in real life, so much better than screens.
Soon enough, the referee blows his whistle, meaning that the match has begun.
I watch closely, yelling at every foul and any shot at the net that have been missed.
Every pass, every tackle, the whole game was a testament to the hard work and dedication of the players.
It was almost halftime, and the score was still 0-0 when I notice Gavi and Vinisius get into a heated argument. Of course no one could tell what the fuck was going on, since they cover their mouths with their hands, but anyone who saw them could tell that it was intense.
I watch as Pedri walks over to Gavi, pulling him away from Vini calmly and whispering in his ear, probably telling him to calm down before he gets a yellow.
"I still get amazed by how quick Gavi changes when he's on the field." I say, looking over at Sophia who has her arms crossed, watching her boyfriend's moves closely.
"I got used to it, and he probably deserves it." She shrugs, referring to Vini as I nod before I look back to the field.
The whistle blows again, and both teams head to the tunnel for halftime break.
I go on my phone for a couple minutes before the crowd starts clapping, and I look down to see players come back out, second half starting soon after.
The first 20 minutes of halftime were filled with fights as well as many fouls, which was pretty normal for El Clásico.
Somewhere around the 79th minute, Pedri makes his way towards the box as he passes the ball to Gündoğan before he makes his way further into the box, Gündoğan passing it back to him.
Suddenly, the whole crowd goes wild as we all get up and celebrate Pedri's goal.
Sophia and I hug eachother as we start jumping around before we look up to the screen to see the team celebrating infront of the cameras.
After a few seconds, they all start walking away from the cameras. Pedri looks back to one of them before he makes a peace sign with his fingers, winking. Only it wasn't a peace sign, it was a 'V'.
He dedicated his goal to me.
He looks my way and smiles softy before he runs back to the middle of the field. I look over at Sophia who was smiling to herself, probably too happy about the goal to notice what Pedri just did.
A soft smile makes it's way to my lips as I shift in my seat. As the game drew to a close, the score was still 1-0, Pedri scoring the only goal, therefore him being the MOTM.
The crowd erupted into cheers and applause, celebrating the hard-fought victory of Barcelona.
I felt a sense of euphoria wash over me, a mix of joy and pride for being a part of this spectacular match. As the players huddled together in celebration, I couldn't help but smile widely.
"Should we uber home? I bet they're gonna be celebrating for the next hour." Sophia suggests as I nod before we get up from our seats and head to the exit.
It took us a good 25 minutes to get home because of all the people celebrating the win on the streets, and I didn't mind that at all.
Being able to witness all this happiness on people's faces, or just being in Barcelona, makes me the happiest i've ever been.
I head to my bedroom as soon as we get home, grabbing comfortable clothes and going into the bathroom before I step into the shower.
As much as I love attending games, I just can't bear the shower after. I always feel so disgusting and sticky because of the heat.
After a few minutes I step out, drying off my hair and body before I slip into sweat shorts and an oversized sweatshirt. I look over at the clock reading '9:36' as I walk out of my bedroom down to the kitchen.
As I head down the stairs, I notice Pedri in the kitchen, on his phone. I make my way over to him, patting him on the back before he flinches.
"You almost gave me a heart attack, oh my god." He breathes out as he places his hand on his chest and I laugh.
"Did Gavi and Sophia head to sleep already?" I ask before he nods, "yeah Gavi was pretty much worn out. Probably from all the fighting." He jokes as I chuckle.
Pedri looks at what I'm wearing for a moment before he looks back up at me, "you changed out of my jersey fast, I'm hurt." He says as I roll my eyes at him, sitting on the stool beside his.
"Good game today, you saved us from the humiliation of madridistas." I congratulate him as he smiles.
"Did you see my celebration?" He asks as I grin, "yeah, a peace sign, right?".
I know damn well that it wasn't a peace sign, but I'm definitely going to act dumb, just in case.
"It was a 'V'."He says as I smile, getting the confirmation I've been waiting for.
"I've never gotten a goal dedicated to me, thank you." I say as he nods, "you know, you did turn out to be my lucky charm after all." Pedri jokes as I hit his upper arm slightly.
"Well, I'm heading to sleep." I announce as I get up, "goodnight, Pedri." He smiles before nodding, "night, Val."
I smile to myself as I go up the stairs before looking back at Pedri for a moment, only to catch him staring at me.
He shoots me a smile one more time before I look back and make my way to my room.
I can never control my thoughts whenever he smiles my way. I find myself folding every fucking time.
