"No," she reiterated. "That's can't be."
Wasabi and Fred chuckled.
"Hiro? Hiro!" she cried out.
He didn't hear her.
Something inside her cracked. Betrayal overwhelmed her.
"It's a fair trade, if I say so myself," Wasabi said, brushing her hair. She pulled away from his touch. "A crown for the girl with the magic hair."(Y/N)'s eyes widened. She whipped around. "How did you-"
Her fear was tangible in the air. All that her father warned her was coming back to her.
"How much do you think they would pay for her hair? To stay young and healthy for eternity?" Fred asked. Wasabi smiled at him, pulling out a large brown sack.
(Y/N) took off. The pebbles didn't help her run very fast on her bare feet, she kept sinking. But it didn't stop her. Her heart was in her throat. Hopping across a log, she thought to hide in the brush, but her hair snagged on a branch. She yelped; dread filling her to the tip of her toes.
Vainly, she tugged at her hair, but it wouldn't get loose. She was distracted by the sound of the pebbles crunching under the thieves' weight, coming at her.
Then they grunted and two loud thumps were heard.
"(Y/N)?" a familiar voice cried out.
(Y/N) nearly burst into tears, relief rushing into her. She calmed down enough to untangle her hair and peek around the corner.
There stood her father, panting slightly with a frying pan in his hand. "(Y/N)?"
The girl rushed towards him, wrapping her arms around his familiar figure. "Father," she whispered.
Callaghan embraced her, repeatedly touching her hair to make sure it was there. "Oh darling, I was worried sick."
"You were right," (Y/N) admitted, her voice cracking. "You were right about everything."
A couple of tears escaped.
"Come on now," Callaghan urged, rushing back into the forest. "Hurry, before they come too."
(Y/N) took one look back, making sure if Hiro really did leave her.
His boat was father away now.
Unable to do anything, she squeezed her eyes shut. The pain in her chest worsened. Heartbroken, (Y/N) turned around and rushed into her father's arms. He gently held her and guided her back home.
The boat hit the dock of the palace with a muffled thud. A couple of guards looked out from their post.
"It's the crown!" a guard shouted and a commotion riled up.
Baymax's eyes fluttered open, his camera focusing on the noises near him. Mochi opened one eye sleepily.
The racket and the sudden jolt of the boat woke Hiro. He muttered (Y/N)'s name sleepily, then his eyes flew open, screaming it louder this time. "(Y/N)? (Y/N)!" He struggled against the rope the bound him to the boat. He whipped his attention to the guards running at him. Desperately, he glanced at his surroundings. "No... No!"
The guards boarded the boat and held him down as another severing the rope.
"No no no! Stop! Fellas! Let's talk about this. Stop! You don't understand!" Hiro fought, trying to get his thoughts together.
Baymax and Mochi quietly walked towards him.
"Hiro?"
"(Y/N)!" Hiro shouted in one last attempt.
