The next day in school, Sage's boyfriend was the first person she stumbled upon. When she got inside the school, she sighed in annoyance in which she didn't even intend to yet Greg heard it loud and clear. "You seriously need to stop making it obvious that you're not into me anymore." Greg said first thing and took Sage's backpack from her shoulder and wore it over his shoulder. "Thanks," The girl mumbled and Greg grinned. "Anytime,"

They started to walk in the hallways slowly and Greg looked around as he thought of a question to ask the girl. "So do you have plans today, Sage?" Greg asked her and she nodded. "That's too bad."

"What? You want to hang out with me or something?" Sage asked, raising her brows and Greg nodded without hesitation. "Maybe next time."

"No problem about that." Greg said as the two of them halted when they got to the girl's classroom and he took off her backpack and handed it right away in which she smiled as a sign for being grateful. "See you later, and please do not ditch me again like yesterday Sage. At least just go home with me." The boy whispered, pleading and Sage chuckled. "No promises, boy."

"Sage, wait up." Greg calls again, making Sage take a step back from the door and look back again to Greg. Greg shoved his right hand in his pocket and it was a band-aid, "I saw your hand yesterday, what happened?" He asked without looking at the girl but rather held her wrist as he opened the band-aid.

"You know what happened," Sage sighed and he looked up to meet her gaze, knowing the reason behind her wound. "You need to be extra careful. You know I can't look after you 24/7."

Sage nodded with a chuckle, "I know. I just forgot to put band-aids on, besides it doesn't hurt anymore."

"The point is to not let the wound get infected, Sage." Greg explains as he places the band-aid over her wound.

"Thanks, Greg. Again." She said and Greg only plastered a smile before waving goodbye to the girl and Sage peered over the band-aid before opening the door to get inside the classroom and the first thing she noticed were two empty seats behind her and it was Mike's and Will's. Her brows furrowed as she checked if Mike's bag was near his chair but nothing, it was clear. She looked beside her to Dustin and pointed at his chair, "Where is he?"

"I don't know. Maybe he overslept or something." Dustin shrugs as he places his textbooks on his desk and Sage gives him a nod before looking back at Mike's seat before focusing in class.

That was a lie. Mike Wheeler did not in fact oversleep. He would never ditch class because Sage knew his mother wouldn't let him miss school unless something happened. How can one oversleep until 3:15 in the afternoon? The girl couldn't help but overthink it and become anxious until the class finally ended and she immediately stood up from her seat.
