The demon slayer corps. An organization whose entire purpose is to eradicate demons once and for all.

Each demon slayer belongs to a rank. Mizunoto, Mizunoe, Kanoto, Kanoe, Tsuchinoto, Tsuchinoe, Kinoto, Kinoe, and finally, rank Hashira. Every demon slayer starts out at rank Mizunoto and progresses based on their strength.

Rank Hashira is for those whose strength is above and beyond that of an average slayer. The requirements to be a hashira are: you must be a rank Kinoe, and you must either kill 50 demons or a demon moon.

Those who have become Hashira typically undergo many years of training, but some of the more talented Hashira only took months to earn their title.

Each demon slayer has their own breathing style. The main breathing styles are: water, wind, thunder, stone, and flame breathing. In addition to those main styles, others have branched off. These other styles include: love, mist, insect, flower, beast, sound, and serpent breathing.

Each hashira's title is based on their breathing style. The current hashira are: Kanroji Mitsuri- Love Hashira, Himejima Gyomei- Stone Hashira, Tomioka Giyuu- Water Hashira, Kocho Shinobu- Insect Hashira, Rengoku Kyojuro- Flame Hashira, Uzui Tengen- Sound Hashira, Iguro Obanai- Serpent Hashira, and Tokito Muichiro and Tokito Yuichiro, also known as Twin Mist, who share the position of Mist Hashira.

The Twin Mist Hashiras were in the Butterfly Mansion. The elder twin, Tokito Yuichiro, had gotten injured during their last mission and was recovering in the Butterfly Mansion. Muichiro, the younger twin, was sitting with his brother in the Butterfly Mansion and keeping him company.

Muichiro was making origami animals and paper airplanes while his brother was getting some sleep. There were around 15 or more paper animals on top of the bed by now.

Muichiro heard a tapping on the window and looked up to see his crow, Ginko, outside. He opened the window, letting the crow in. "New mission! Head to XXXX immediately!" Muichiro tried to quiet Ginko, as Yuichiro was still sleeping, but to no avail, Yuichiro had woken up from the noise.

"What's going on...?" Yuichiro seemed a bit confused. It makes sense, he had just woken up, after all. "Sorry for waking you, oniisan! Ginko was just giving me a mission, that's all" Muichiro felt a bit bad for waking up his brother, as Yuichiro needed the rest.

"A mission? Without me?" Yuichiro seemed even more confused now. We were almost never sent on missions alone. "I guess... Ginko made it sound like it's important..." Ginko nodded when Muichiro said this.

"There's a strong demon at XXXX and we need a strong Hashira to defeat it as soon as possible!" Ginko informed them.

Muichiro nodded. He knew that he'd have to leave Yuichiro alone, but it had to be done to defeat the demon.

"Sorry, oniisan, but I have to go now..." Muichiro gathered his things and bid goodbye to his brother. Yuichiro, albeit a little worried, had faith that his younger brother would be fine on the mission alone.

But little did he know...

Hello! So, short chapter, but it's only the prologue, so it's fine. This is my first time writing a story without any ships, so let's hope it'll end up good!

All disclaimers for the story are in the description, so I recommend reading the description before you continue the story. There aren't many major warnings, other than character deaths, so you should be alright to continue.

This entire story is focused mainly around the Tokito twins and what happened if Yuichiro lived or maybe if one of them were turned into a demon.
