Chapter 45 [Part 1/2]

Chaeyoung could drive me nuts just by existing, but when she gets going on a rant, I can't tune her out. Last Monday, she was going off about Jin Young, dishing out her opinions and observations on him. She even dropped the bombshell that he was the one who pulled Sana away without me even noticing. Since then, I've been keeping a close eye, and I totally get what Chaeyoung was saying. He's really gunning for Sana's time and attention. I mean, he's always been a bit clingy, but lately, it's like he can't function without Sana glued to his hip. Nayeon thought as she shot a pointed look at Jin Young.

Jin Young shot back with a playful grin, "Oh, trust me, Nayeon, I'm not aiming for a lifetime of singledom for Sana! Just so you know, I'm pretty clued in on the whole romantic saga you girls have got going on."

"And yeah, I get it. You're worried Sana might end up flying solo until graduation, while the rest of you are happily coupled up. I caught wind of that confession last Monday– it's been blowing up all over Instagram. Looks like you've bagged yourself one of Tzuyu's pals, huh? And hey, no need to stress. I'm well aware that Tzuyu's making moves on Sana. But relax, I just want to have a good time with my bestie. I'm not out to sabotage anything," he reassured, defending his actions.

"Hey, it's not just me! All of us girls, Sana included, could be off the market any day now," Nayeon shot back, a confident grin lighting up her face. But her tone turned serious, a hint of warning creeping in. "But if you keep stirring the pot like this, they might just end up losing whatever spark they've got going,"

Jin Young was on the verge of responding when Chanty and Chaeyoung finally reached them.

"Hey there, Pretty Unnies!"
"Hey, girls!"

Upon the arrival of the two, Sana and Nayeon's faces lit up with excitement.

They enthusiastically greeted Sana and Nayeon while pretending not to notice Jin Young standing beside Sana.

"Hi Chanty! It's so good to see you both. Where have you been?" Nayeon quickly reciprocated the greeting, embracing Chanty first and exchanging a knowing look with Chaeyoung who was behind Chanty.

Then, Sana and Chanty also shared a warm hug, while Nayeon and Chaeyoung simply nodded at each other, acknowledging their presence as they usually did.

Showing off her award-winning acting skills, Chanty cleverly glanced at Sana's side, pretending to accidentally notice Jin Young. With an expression of genuine surprise, she exclaimed, "Oh my gosh! I didn't see you right away, Oppa! So, you're Sana Unnie's bestie, huh?" Chanty smoothly apologized, adding emphasis to the word 'we' to cue Chaeyoung to join in on the act.

Chanty approached Jin Young, offering a quick hug while maintaining her character. She subtly made a face during the embrace, all the while Jin Young is completely unaware of Chanty's internal curses directed towards him.

"Damn! We seriously didn't notice you, dude! I'm so happy to see you here," Chaeyoung chimed in, mentally, she contorted her face when uttering the word 'Happy'.

After Chanty released Jin Young from the hug, it was Chaeyoung's turn to engage in a brief hug with him.

If killing was as easy as changing channels, you'd be the headline act at your own funeral, Chaeyoung thought, suppressing a sarcastic chuckle as she extricated herself from the hug, shooting Jin Young a grin that could power a solar panel.

"Lucky for you, I'm not the outlaw type... yet," Chaeyoung muttered under her breath, fortunately remaining unheard by Jin Young.

"I'm so glad to see you here too, Chaeyoung! SK University is definitely a great institution, but I totally understand why you decided to transfer here. YGIU is renowned for its excellence, after all. Personally, I've been really enjoying my time here," Jin Young shared, staying close to Sana who stood beside Nayeon. Chaeyoung and Chanty stood in front of them.
