I had planned shopping with Lora because she's got a better taste of design than I had. I grabbed my phone and texted her to remind her about our plans but it took her so long to reply.

Lora: Sorry Tash, I kinda got an emergency at home. I think I won't be making it. Sorry

She replied and I sighed in frustration.

Natasha: ok no problem

I replied and then walked further into the mall searching for the perfect dress to wear for tonight. I want to surprise them with a new look.

I walked into a store and chose a short round black dress which had matching boots and a jacket. I don't want to look so mature yet so this cute outfit will surely do.

I baught the cute dress and the rest and then went to a makeup store and got the most beautiful look for the night. The clock displayed the time notifying me that it's already some minutes past six.

I carried my bags along with me to the car and then drove back home. My smile widened when I met my dad the moment I opened the door and all I did was jump into his chest  for a hug. "easy there, you'll throw him down" Jordan said making me gasp again.

"you guys are here already" I said looking at both of them. My dad and my boyfriend. "it's the best we can do for now" dad said pulling another smile out of me. I can't be more happier. "hey I'm here too" mom said and I ran over to her and also hugged her.

"so has any body seen how good my girlfriend looks right now?" Jordan asked. "I did but I was distracted to tell" dad said and I blushed at their comments. I had invited a few friends of mine from school since I don't have many and thank God they made it. My parents think I'm a nerd who can't make friends.

To my surprise, Lora was also here. My Jaws dropped at the girl. She was wearing a long silver dress with a high slit. She had perfectly weaved hair, perfectly painted lips with a bloody red color, she had simple eye makeup making her look elegant. To be honest I admired her and so did my boyfriend.

She looked so mature, a side that made me feel so insecure about her. She's the type of girl who looks incredibly hot but hangs out with a socially awkward nerd because the nerd is her bestie. I even wonder how we became friends.

I ran towards her and hugged her with a wide smile. I thought she wasn't going to make it to my birthday party. "you made it" I said with a wide smile "and you look stunning" I added and she chuckled. Well she's used to such compliments.

"thanks, but you are the queen of the day, you look like a queen her self" she said but the truth is I'm nothing compared to her. I always adore her because we are both black girls and black girls are rare to find at our school.

I walked her towards my family and introduced every one to her and she shook all their hands. My mom praised her for being so pretty tonight and also did dad. I had always told Lora about my boyfriend but she had never got the chance to meet him Untill today.

Lora looks so dangerously beautiful tonight that it made me so uncomfortable at some point. Don't blame me any body would. I felt so small and invisible but hey it's my night.

Finally I had to share some speeches and I got up from my chair to speak. I shared alot of old stories it was like I was turning 18 from the way things where.
