The Devil's Hitman

“Wow, that escalated quickly.” The figure said “So that’s how you ended up here. You got in a confrontation with your squad mates”

“And I died” I muttered “Let's just continue the story”

“Very well” The figure approved.

(Flashback re-re-re-continued)

I stood in front of Chloe looking at both her and Lexis. I put my knife away and pulled out my scythe and aimed it at Chloe, “I don’t wanna do this, just leave and we can go home” I readied my scythe in case she didn’t listen.

“Reaper did you hit your head or something? We kill and get the money, and all is well. What makes her so different?” Chloe cocked her pistol and aimed it at my chest. “It's just some child, Reaper! What's going on in that head of yours?” She fired two bullets at my chest. Reacting quickly, I blocked the bullets with my scythe, but just as I did Lexis rushed forward past me and to the girl, she screamed in fear.

“NOO GO AWAY!!” She screamed. Lexis got closer and closer with her knife. Just as she went to stab her, I jumped in the way and blocked the knife with the blade of my scythe. “Stay away from her!” I pushed her back. I swung my scythe at Lexis, she barely dodged the blade with every slash getting harder and harder to dodge. I finally landed a hit on her arm she jumped back and looked at the deep gash on her forearm.

“SHIT! That hurt. Why are you trying so hard to protect this kid?” Lexis asked, “I’ve seen you kill people without a second thought, but you see one child and go crazy?”

I could see why she thought that way, but I think I’ve changed. Sometimes I find myself thinking of living a normal life in the city, away from the killing and murder but I choose to stay. I don’t know why, I think I wouldn’t fit in, the normal world wouldn’t accept me.

“We’ve killed people before, and they were terrible people, they deserved their deaths!” I turn to the girl. “But she’s done nothing wrong, she’s innocent!”

I got into a fighting stance ready to fight, until I saw them getting orders through their earbuds. “What?!? The brat's dad is gonna be here in 2 minutes??” Chloe shouts.

“Daddys coming to save me” The girl whispers, relief washed over her face.

“Damnit, we have to finish this fast if we caught in here were screwed!” Chloe yells.

I turned and walked up to the girl and aimed my scythe at her. Chloe and Lexus smiled as I got closer to her “Yes! finally you come to your senses Reaper” Lexis sighed “Finish her off and let’s get the hell out of here!” I looked down at the crying girl as she looked into my eyes. I winked to show her I wasn’t going to harm her.

I sighed as I lifted my scythe over my head and swung down missing the girl and threw it towards Lexis and Chloe, they jumped out the way and I grabbed the girl and ran to the exit I jumped down the ladder and ran through the hallway. “Don’t worry I won't let them hurt you!” I whispered to her “Can you tell me where your dad's going to come from?”

“H-he’s coming in from the sky” She whimpered still crying to herself.

“So, a helicopter. Got it I just need to get to the roo-”

A loud Booming noise rang through the air. I looked to see it was the Twins they held out their weapons, a pair of twin katana’s.

“End of the line Reaper.” Leo held his weapon towards me.

“Give us the girl or we’ll be forced to hurt you” Jade pressed a button on the hilt of his blade and the blade went from a normal to serrated katana.
