"An inviting family. Thus the family is protected."

"'Protect'? What do you mean...?" Tanjiro asked from behind his father.
His father, feeling a little sceptical of the sudden passivism, asked him to elaborate.
"...I don't understand. My purpose and reason is to protect. Should there be any more to it?" Y/n explained while having a curious tilt of his head to the side.
And truth be told, he couldn't really argue with that. And besides...
'His whole body is... I see...'
"Well, anyways, let's get inside first." The older man finally let down his guard, reaching out to Y/n with an extended hand.
"Yeah! You must be cold, wearing such thin clothes out in the snow..." Tanjiro chimed in worry.
'If father thinks that this person is not a bother, then he must be a nice person. Although, it still bothers me that I can't sniff his scent...'
*Sniff, sniff*
Just then, a scent came through Tanjiro.
"Father…! There's--!" Tanjiro suddenly blurted out, and his father then quickly rushed outside along with him.
What met them outside, was a pack of four mountain wolves, growling and baring their teeth at them.
"But how..? The bells should've..." As Tanjiro spoke, his father then pointed at one of the wolf's teeth, littered with wires and strings of bells.
Seems like they were unfortunate enough to face a quite intelligent beast.
"Tanjiro, stand back. Let your father handle this." He warned his son, stepping up in front of him and taking the wood-chopping axe at the front of the shack.
He took a deep breath, calming himself down and readying the axe. But, as he was just about to engage with the pack, a person stood in front of him.
"You... What are--" Tanjiro's father was about to stop the stranger of his home from worry, but was cut off immediately.
Soulless eyes and blank face glared daggers at the four preparators, as they snarled and growled back at their opposition.
"My purpose... is to protect... That.. is what I must do..." Declared the unknown ronin, unsheathing his blade and bared it at the wolves, taking a stance.
"Come."
At his invitation, one of the wolves immediately rushed at Y/n, claws and fangs ready to strike. But it only pounced onto an empty patch of snow. It then quickly looked around, only then to howl in pain when it felt a slash on its back, already bleeding from a wound.
Landing back on the ground relatively unharmed, Y/n swiped his blade into the air, ridding it of any blood that sticks to it. Turning back to the other three wolves, they were only left to watch as their brethren were slayed in an instant. Two of them cowered in fear, but after a growl from the other one, they then stepped up against Y/n, bearing their fangs and claws, although hesitant.
"So fast..." Tanjiro murmured in amazement. It's not every day he sees people moving at high speed like that after all.
After a moment, the two wolves then charged at Y/n simultaneously from each direction. They then pounced for an attack, one aimed at his legs and the other at his head.
