"Hi-to-shi!" I jumped onto my childhood friend's back after jogging to catch up with him, "how was your entrance exam? Do good?"

Today he was taking both the general studies course exam and also the hero course exams.

It was something along the lines of he wasn't completely confident that he could get onto the hero course right away and so he wanted to attempt to get on it through the Sports Festival... or something? At least he had a solid plan, I suppose, but still it's a bit sad. I wish he had more belief in himself. He totally can get onto the hero course, I haven't met anyone who deserves to be on it more than Hitoshi.

... weirdly he also reminds me of Shota in more ways than one and so if Shota managed to become a hero then Hitoshi totally can.

"I'm not getting into the hero course," Hitoshi told me, his tone filled with dejected finality, and I couldn't help but to sigh.

"That bad?" I asked, he stopped walking, and I dropped down off of his back. He turned and nodded.

"I had no chance," he grumbled, "but I have a feeling I'll get into general studies."

"Well, then there's still a chance," I grinned, "when a door closes, throw yourself out of a window."

He gave me a weird look.

"It means that you may not have gotten in the hero course now, through the door, but you can get in through the window by forcing them to see that your place in general studies is so totally wasted!" I told him. He stared at me for a couple minutes before smiling, "it's not like it's never happened, right?"

"You're right," he messed up my hair, "come on. Let's get lunch. I'm starved."

I nodded and we continued walking to the cat café we always have lunch at when we decide to hang out.

"I'm going to the support class entrance exam," I announced as I entered the flat(/apartment), noticing my parents' shoes were already stacked on the shoe rack, I thought I'd just cut the long conversation down by saving a few minutes. Loud thudding against the wooden surface of the floors quickly followed that as Hizashi came flying at me.

"You're going to do it?!" he asked loudly, so loud that he might as well have been using his quirk. But he wasn't. I nodded in response, dodging his outstretched arms before I got suffocated to death before I could even take the exam.

I love the man but sometimes he forgets he's a whole of a lot stronger than he looks when he's excited.

"I might as well try, right?" I asked, I mean Hitoshi is, he's determined to show his strength during the Sports Festival and get onto the hero course that way. I won't lie, he lit a bit of a fire under me, Hizashi nodded frantically, "but I don't want you or Shota to pull any strings! I want to get into UA by my own ability. Not because you two are pro heroes and teachers there. Make me a promise on that, please, Hizashi. You too, Shota!"

"Promise!" I heard Shota's lazy ass response from the living room and gave a satisfied nod towards the doorway before focusing back on the blonde man in front of me.

I stuck my pinkie finger out to Hizashi, knowing he never breaks his pinkie promises (he's childish that way) and waited. He took a deep breath and linked his own pinkie with my own.

"I promise," he nodded.

"Right," I nodded, adjusting the strap of my tool bag and passing Hizashi to go to the living room where I dropped down beside Shota who just glanced over to me, "what?"

"It's good that you're going to do it. It'd be a waste of talent if you didn't get your support gear license," he told me, giving me a small shoulder bump as I took my tool belt off again, "I'm proud of you."
