part 15 ?

Me and sal talk for a while until 6:30 when I decided to get ready. I groan as I sit up in my bed. I have a quick shower, and I get changed. After I have my breakfast, i check the time. It's 7:15. I go back into my room to do my makeup.

I'm really tired. I don't wanna go to school, I could just skip today. I think about it for a second. I've already missed a lot of school this year, though. And I used to have a very bad habit of not going to school when I was being bullied.

At 7:40, I leave my apartment and meet up with ash and the others in her car. I'm sitting in the back next to sal. He's telling larry about something that happened yesterday.

I look out the window, biting my nails. I feel someone tap my shoulder.
"You okay?" Sal asks me softly.
"Yeah. I'm fine." I reply, looking away from the window to look at sal.
"You sure?" He says.
"Yeah, just... kinda anxious for tomorrow." I sigh. Sal nods.
"I'm here if you wanna talk about it." Sal smiles, looking at me softly.

He reaches for my hand, and he holds it in his. I smile, looking down. Maybe today won't be as shitty as I thought it would be.

Sal somehow always makes things easier. He's makes me glad that I moved to nockfell.

We get to school 5 minutes later. Sal holding my hand as we walk into the school. Sal, aria and i all have the same first class so we walk there together. I sit down in my seat beside sal, with aria sitting in the seat in front of me.

Somehow, I managed to get through the entire school day and then me and the others went to my house.

When I open my apartment door, I see my mom in the kitchen. I'm guessing she got home from work early.
"Hello, y/n." She says, looking down at her phone. I say hello and then me and the others go into my room.

We all hang out for a little while, I didn't talk that much since I was barely awake. I suddenly remember that I forgot to tell the others about aidan moving to nockfell. It's been about a week since he told me. Its feels like it's been a year.

"Oh, I forgot to tell you guys." I say suddenly after being quiet for the past 5 minutes. They all turn to look at me, ash nods. I sigh slightly.

"You guys know aidan? He's kinda... moving to nockfell." I tell them. Ashs eyes widen, and so do Larry's. Aria doesn't know much about aidan or the situation, so she doesn't really say anything. Sal already knows, so he isn't surprised.

"What? When?" Larry asks.
"Tomorrow." I reply.
"Wait, how do you know? Did he tell you or?" Ash cuts in.
"Yeah. He told me a week ago. I forgot to tell you guys, though." I inform them. Ash looks surprised and not in a good way. She sighs.

Aria looks up from her phone.
"Uh, who's aidan? I know you guys told me, but I forgot." She asks, looking at me. I think about my response for a second. Maybe I shouldn't tell her everything that happened. I'll just tell her that he's my ex.

"He's my ex. We broke up not too long ago." I tell her. Aria nods slowly.
We talk about the whole situation for a while until everyone has to go home.

"Bye y/n, see you tomorrow!" Ash says, leaving my apartment. Sal turns to me before he leaves and awkwardly hugs me. I smile and hug him tightly. He pulls away and waves before exiting my apartment.

I turn around to go back into my room, spotting my mom at the kitchen table. She smiles at me.
"Who was the girl with blonde hair?" My mother questions. I forgot that she hasn't met aria.
"Oh, that was aria. She moved to our school recently." I tell her. My mom nods, smiling.

"How's aidan?" My mom asks. My stomach drops, remembering that I'll probably have to see him again tomorrow. I sit down at the kitchen table across from my mom. My mom liked aidan, probably a lot more than she liked me. So I don't think she'll be happy to hear about this. I don't know how it took me so long to tell her about it. My mom used to be the first person I'd go to so I could talk about things that happen. I guess that was before we moved, though.

"Uhm, yeah, I forgot to tell you, but... aidan cheated on me. So I broke up with him. Unfortunately, he's moving to nockfell. Tomorrow." I tell her nervously. She stays still for a moment, looking anywhere besides my eyes.

All of a sudden, she gets up and walks over to my side of the table. She hugs me tightly.

This was not at all how I expected her to react. I thought she'd be upset, not for me but for herself because she liked aidan. I thought maybe she wouldn't believe me. I can't remember the last time she hugged me before this.

"Y/n..." She says, pulling away. "I'm sorry. Sorry that happened." She says sympatheticly. I nod. She sits on the chair beside me.

"Y/n. I have something to tell you." She says. I nod for her to continue. My mom sighs. My eyes flicker across the kitchen before they meet my mothers sad eyes. I have no clue what she's about to say, but judging by the look on her face, I doubt it's anything good.

"I don't know how to tell you this. I don't know if I should. You deserve to know, though. When you were little, 3 years old, I think. Your dad and I didn't really get along. One day, I went on his phone and saw his texts with another woman." She says, eyes teary.

I can tell where this is going. I've never known my dad. whenever I asked my mom where he is. She told me when I was old enough to understand that he left. She didn't tell me why until now, though.

"We got a divorce, and he left the town we used to live in. He moved in with the other woman. They have a family of their own now. I'm telling you this now because you deserve to know. And I know how this feels. I'm sorry, y/n." She leans in to hug me again. I'm still. I dont move for a while before i hug my mother tightly. I feel sorry for my mom because I know the feeling as well. It makes sense now. At least now I have the answers 11 year old me wished for.
