Chapter XVI - Starling

"You want the HyperDose?" The man smirked as he turned his way, as if he was going to hand him the needle, "then have it!"

"Wait-!" Before Kamila could warn Wally, the needle was already in his arm. The man barely pressed down on the string before Kamila hit the back of his head with the hilt of her dagger and the archer above released another arrow, allowing it to tie the last man up as well.

Wally pulled out the needle which had been strategically placed between the padding of his suit and looked at the teal-tinted liquid inside. Kamila heard Artemis drop to the ground next to her, but only looked over when the younger girl spoke up, "uh guys? Where did the girl go?"

Kamila looked around in confusion. How had the woman just disappeared like that? Surely one of them would have noticed...

Kamila refocused her attention on Wally, "you okay?"

The ginger nodded as he examined the needle, "yeah, I'm fine. At least I feel fine... hey Artemis you recognize this? I mean, it's your city, maybe it's local?"

The archer stepped forward and looked at the syringe for a moment before shaking her head, "must be new, vertigo is more green and has been out of cycle for a while now... plus they don't just test drugs on random people in the streets like this, at least not in this part of town... we could ask GA or Canary about it?"

Wally shrugged his shoulders and looked back at the injection, which by now had definitely healed. The boy looked back at the three men, all of which knocked out on the floor, "well my metabolism probably burned up the thing by now, so we don't know what side effects it'll have..."

"which is probably a good thing," Kamila continued, then she looked back at the three men, "we should call the cops on these three, maybe call Roy and let him know about it too."

Artemis made a face, "why does he need to be involved," she said in an annoyed tone, putting a hand on her hip and resting her bow on her shoulder.

"Uh, because he's our friend, and he still patrols Star too!" The speedster defended, glaring at the girl in green who just rolled her eyes.

Kamila sighed as she crouched down next to the man who held the syringe and pulled out the phone from the inside of his jacket pocket. The electric girl looked back at the two of them, "ladies, ladies, you're both pretty. Now, stop fighting," Wally and Artemis were about to protest but noticed Kamila already had the police on the phone and kept quiet.

After a moment, the police were informed about the three men. They were only three or four blocks away from the nearest precinct, so they needed to get out fast. Wally opened up his snack compartment, grabbed a StarLabs Calories bar to make space, and placed inside the syringe for safe keeping. Kamila and Artemis found themselves on the roof top in a few short seconds and Wally was already running a few blocks ahead.

"Ugh I'm starving, can we stop at a big belly burger?" The speedster asked over them comms. Which Kamila was expecting to happen given the fact that he'd been running for quite a while and the last time he'd eaten was before they had left Central for Star.

"Nearest is on the corner of Nelson and King Street," Artemis supplied with a shrug as she looked over at the blue and red flashing lights in the distance.

"I'll meet you two there"

With that the comm link went quiet and the two girl continued to run across roof tops. Despite Kamila only patrolling Star city a few time in recent years on the off chance Team Arrow needed her help, or to hang out with Roy, she knew how to get to every restaurant in the city. She likes to think of it as a skill you learn while working with two speedsters who eat upwards of ten thousand calories a day.
