It was March already and Jake has fixed both bikes. To be honest I thought that it would take longer, but Jake being such a good mechanic and with my knowledge about motorcycles, rebuilding both took only the whole of February.
I was currently sitting in-between Jake and Bella in Bella's truck. A comfortable silence surrounding us as Bella drove to a place where we could test out the bikes.
"If I told you..." Jake began saying, breaking the silence, ". I couldn't have fixed these bikes, what would you say?"
I looked at Bella before looking at Jake, knowing that his question was mostly for Bella.
"Are you doubting your mad skills?" I asked for Bella as she focused on driving and the road.
"No, definitely not. I mean, they're all fine," Jake replied. "It's just... Maybe if I was smarter would have dragged out to rebuild them."
Okay...I hope Bella knows what Jake is talking about because I can practically sense his feelings and signals towards her.
"If you told me, you couldn't fix these bikes," Bella said while looking from Jake to the road. "I would say that that's really too bad but...he's going to find something else to do. "
I saw Bella looking over to her left and what we saw together made my heart pump even faster. What the hell are they doing? "Is that Sam Uley?"
"Yeah, and his cult," Jake replied as we watched the guys on the other side push someone off the cliff making Bella pull over to the side and run out of the truck with me and Jake right behind her.
"Oh my God," Bella said shocked as we watched Sam and his 'cult'. "Did you see that?"
I was too shocked to answer her as I stared at the remaining three guys on the cliff in nothing but shorts. All three had the same short hair, tan skin, and I could see faint black markings on their shoulders - probably tattoos.
"They're not really fighting, Bella," Jake said as he leaned against Bella's truck and watched the Uley cult show off. "They're cliff diving. Scary as hell, but a total rush."
All three of us watched as one of them took off running, flung himself into the air, twisted and cartwheeled down.
"Rush?" Bella asked. To me it sounded like she was curious and wanted to find out what it was like.
"-Most of us jump from lower cliff down," Jake answered. "We'll leave the showing off to Sam and his disciples. "
Me and Bella walked over to Jake as we continued to watch Sam and the other guy. "Is some kind of beef with them or something?"
I couldn't stop looking at Sam and his friends. They looked so damn cool. It actually made me a little jealous that they weren't scared and that they had bigger abs and muscles. Do they even wear shirts?
"Oh, no," Jake answered my question. "They just think they run the place. Embry used to call them hall monitors on steroids. Now, look at him."
I watched with Bella as Embry, now with short hair, abs, and muscles, jumped off the cliff and into the ocean. "That's Embry? I didn't recognize him. What happened to him?"
"He missed some school - then, out of nowhere, he's following Sam around," Jake explained as we continued to watch. "Same thing happened with Paul and Jared. They weren't even friends, now Sam owns them."
Jake took a breath before speaking again. "Sam keeps giving me this look, like he's waiting for me or something; it's kinda freaking me out."
"Maybe you should avoid him," I said, remembering now the look he and Sam shared after Bella was found. "By the looks of the look you two shared after Bella was found and home, I could tell that there was something going on between the two of you."
