 summary:  the dagger squad show up to help maverick move in while meeting his daughter they realise there is a new nerd in town .

saturday morning  helping  pete maverick mitchell was not the top of their weekend plans but due to the drunken agreement here they stood .   " thanks guys for coming before we even get started  coffee and food is on the way " he clapped as they all just groaned in response , few growls throw in there as they walked into his small  housing.  "  look it's not much and i appreciate the help " he chuckled remember similar weekends he had that that age.  "we're happy to help sir " bob smiled only one who wasn't suffering .  what they we're expecting was the series of beeps . " old man help me out " to be yelled towards the house.  " that will be your coffee's and food arriving " he smiled weakly. " there's no way you got Y/N to help " rooster asked surprised.  " yeah i may have already regretted that " he winced . " and who is y/n " jake asked what they were all thinking . " his daughter now come on someone come out and help me " rooster stood unsurely . "  i'll help i need the coffee i was watching a panel last night til like 4 am " fanboy yawn . " is she hot " jake asked. " very so stay there and don't talk " rooster and fanboy walked out  as rest of the dagger squad headed to the window to get a glimpse.

" oh hey chicken and co it nice someone finally came out to help " she opened the car door handing them the boxes that held the copies . " its rooster  kid " he rolled his eyes. " and your ? " she asked yawning slightly. " mickey garcia but callsign fanboy "  he almost drooled the words out as his eyes landed on her. " well nice to meet you mickey  , how did my dad rope you into this ?" she turned back to grab the rest of the food. " he waited til we were drunk , how did he rope you into it?  " rooster snorted . "  love bombed me " she huffed wanting nothing better then to be in her bed at that very moment but hey cute pilots and wso would certainly help that was for sure.  " hey baby girl  how are you feeling " mav asked as she walked into the house. " like a late set adoption isn't a bad idea .. oh hi " she turned to see the rest of the dagger squad sitting looking at her. " well hello darling " jake stood hand held out and flirty grin on his face. " hello , anyway food and coffee  here  so lets get that down the hatch and we can all sue this man for slave labour after " she walked off leaving jake standing there hand still outstretched and confusion on his face. " well i'll be damned she barely even looked at you man " javy broke out laughing . " ok ok come on she right sooner we can eat sooner we can get this over with and you can do whatever it is you do " maverick called over the teasing.  " i'll help her with the breakfast" fanboy smiled rushing off. " ain't gonna work my man chick like that will be on date with me by end of the day " jake winked taking his seat. "  yeah i doubt it , that chick is even too hot for you bagman " phoenix scoffed.  he could hear his team bickering but it slowly dulled when he walked into the kitchen while she set everything up . " hey how much was all this i'll get the rest of team chip in " he smiled softly. " nothing i made it myself " she shrugged sorting out a buffet style arrangement . " well later come to the hard deck and your drinks are on us " he began pulling cutlery out .  " i'd like that though this is more my apology to you all for having to be up so early and help my dad out "she finally turned smiling at the man .  " well it's a good one but we would of said yes with or without alcohol " he held out the napkins as she took them she could almost feel actual sparks as her fingers grazed his . "  would you like to tell the other  food is ready "  she almost flushed as the intensity of his gaze before he gave a little nod and gulp before he done exactly that. 

he never known himself to be jealous but when jake hangman seresin decided to sit the other side of  her while he was left sitting across watching as the texan talked the ears off of her. one thing did make him smile was her constant shut  down of his one liners . " so you not hungover like the rest of us " phoenix joked reaching over to grab more of the eggs. " no i was actually up late watching a panel for the new starwars movie which they say it will be good as empire  strike's back but i'm sorry nothing could be as good as that " she laughed ." ah same here love star trek i mean those little destroying trash cans shouting exterminate"   jake mused making her eyes roll . " you got that so wrong , it's star wars and your talking about dalek's which are doctor who  i mean awesome show but still that was a mismatch of sci fi right there  "she snorted as the rest laughed at the rejected  look on hangman's face. " so what you think of the storyline plot i mean it's out there but could be potential in it" mickey sat up straighter . " i mean yeah but there is so much they could go wrong and stir off the main story altogether and it's never good when they do that" she giggled as he could literally feel his heart skip a beat . he was definitely still dream for the fact he was talking to the most beautiful woman who love nerdy culture like he did and immune to the charms of hangman . " pinch me ... owW" he whispered to payback only to yelp when the man actually did it . " dad  i'm finish food so i'm going to get started on living room " she stood bring her plate before washing it of and drying it . " did i forget to mention she was a nerd " bradley smirked to his friends. " i don't think your getting that date man " javy patted jake on the back . " oh he's not" she laughed walking by the men into the living room .  "  you know i always wondered why i loved that girl and well that is one of them ... love her like a sister" bradley laughed seeing jake seresins cheek light up .  " i think i love her too " phoenix mused. "  ok we all love my daughter now lets eat and get started before she tries to do it all herself " mav mumbled. he wasn't wrong the team could see the living room almost packed up while she  was coming in and out with boxes. " baby girl  why don't you head to the garage and help fanboy out " bradley smiled almost too sweetly for her  knowing he was up to something but went anyways. " you see what i'm seeing " phoenix smirked. " nerd themed wedding " rooster laughed as she nodded in agreement. " jesus  fanboy really " jake huffed still  nursing his bruised ego  .  " i mean even i can see it and i don't want to " mav grimace thought of his daughter no matter her age dating .  

the conversation between the two never  ceased to dwindle from their share interests , to their work and everything inbetween .  It  was refreshing to be able to talk so freely mos people didn't have a clue on her interest but mickey garcia not only knew but had his own input.  " not even chicken  can  keep up with my star wars rants , i mean  he tries but that just the big brother in him" she smiled placing a box outside of the garage before she pulled out an empty one. " i mean bob is the only one who actually understand me sometimes rest look at me like i've  been talking rocket science" he chuckled. " say your girlfriend at least understands right? " she clearly fishing but how could not . strong , nerdy guy like him standing around her made her want giggle and twirl her hair like damned school girl . "  i don't have one , i mean i don't have anyone like that in general  , your boyfriend , husband ? " he barely finished. " nope just me and my dog but he wont sit through the movies with me " she fake pouted making his laugh echo through the now nearly empty garage.  "well i mean if you ever need a watch buddy  i could give you my number and keep you company " he shuffle his feet nervously . " ok deal , how about this you come over later my place beers  and maraton " she held her phone towards the man . " deal " he smiled brightly typing  his number  and giving himself a ring so he had her number. " hey sweetheart , were heading to hard deck tonight wanna come " jake walked into the garage . " can't bagman i got date tonight " she winked at mickey before carrying off more the boxes to her car. " with me  so tell the guys i can't make it , thanks man " he walked out following .
