"Ow..." Marco groaned as he felt something step on his ribs.
"Marco, stop it!" Emma grabbed her five-year-old son. "You're gonna wake your dad!"
"What?" Marco asked, trying to open his eyes.
Emma giggled, "No, I was trying to get little Junior here to stop jumping."
Marco Jr. was their eldest child, and he was named that because Marco said he played a "big part in his creation" and he insisted that he deserved some credit for it.
"Guten morgen, papa!" Marco Jr. said loudly as he waved at his dad.
"Guten morgen," Marco smiled at him.
"Mommy!" Lena stumbled into the room. "Marco's being noisy!"
"Marco, you're waking everyone in the house," Emma laughed as her son grabbed her face and kissed her cheek.
"Sorry, Mommy," Marco Jr. said.
"What's for breakfast, Mommy?" Lena climbed up onto the bed.
"The baby in Mommy's tummy," Marco smirked, earning a glare from Emma.
"We're gonna eat a baby?" Marco Jr. said, terrified.
"That's bad!" Lena said.
"Your dad's kidding, guys," Emma said.
"Yeah," Marco laughed.
"But do you really have another baby, Mommy?" Marco Jr. asked.
"Apparently," Emma giggled.
"What's that mean?" Lena asked.
"She does," Marco said. "His name's Marco Junior Number Two."
Emma hit him. "No, it is not. We don't even know if it's a girl or a boy."
Marco yawned, "But if he's a boy--"
"We are not naming him Marco Junior Number Two," Emma rolled her eyes. "Stop being so full of yourself. It's bad enough you wanted to name Lena 'Marca'."
"It's not like I was serious about Marca!" Marco laughed, "Why would I name my daughter after a Spanish news thing?"
"My name used to be Marca?" Lena asked in a whiny tone.
"Of course not," Marco smiled at her before grabbing her and enveloping her in his arms.
"I'm so hungry!" Marco Jr. said, falling out of Emma's arms and onto the bed.
"Alright," Emma said, "just let me change."
As everyone filed out of the room, Marco stayed behind for a bit to try catch up on the sleep his son took away from him.
"Marco, help me out here!" Emma yelled from the kitchen, "The kids are--Lena, no!"
"Give me a minute!" Marco yelled back, laughing to himself as he put on a shirt and walked out of the room.
He stopped at the end of the hallway, where he could perfectly see his beautiful wife cooking and his two wonderful children chasing each other around with... a broom.
"Hey Junior!" Marco immediately ran after them. "Put the broom down!"
Marco Jr. stopped running and immediately dropped the broom. "Sorry papa! Sorry! I wanna go to your next match Papa please!"
Marco laughed. "As long as you two," he said, pointing at him then at Lena, "stop chasing each other with a broom."
"OK!" Marco Jr. exclaimed happily.
Marco smiled at him before walking over to the kitchen and hugging Emma from behind. "How's it going, liebe?"
"Alright," she said. "Look, Marco--I love being in your arms but I need to get something over there."
"But we'll continue this later, right?" Marco asked, kissing her temple.
"Right," Emma giggled as he let her go.
"I love you," Marco said.
"I love you too," Emma looked back and smiled at him.
