Chapter 50: The Beach Episode

It was now late July. 

Chan was able to get a whole two week plan settled so he and his friends could take it off work to travel to Busan. Jeongin confirmed they could stay with his grandmother since she had a considerable amount of land along a beach. On that land was the Yang family home and a spare cabin with several guest bedrooms, as it was the usual spot for family reunions or events.

The group was currently carpooling, Chan was driving himself and Seungmin. Minho, happy to make a road trip in his car again, drove Jisung and himself. Felix, now with the use of both arms, drove Hyunjin and himself, but they were also joined by Changbin and Jeongin. Changbin's car has difficulties traveling long distances, so Felix offered his car to them.

It was pretty fun with the four of them in one car, jamming out to old 2000s classics and singing loudly together with the windows down. The warm summer air tangled their hair, and laughter kept them smiling the whole way. The travel wasn't too interesting, so they might as well make it fun while they were in the car for a while!

Chan and Seungmin's car was much quieter, but still, they listened to the soft hum of the radio and chatted quietly. They were currently chatting about the logistics of getting a dog together, since Seungmin moved in with Chan two weeks ago. Now being freed of the college dorm room he was eager to invest in a pet. Especially one Chan and him could raise together. 

Minho's car was even quieter, as Jisung fell asleep within 20 minutes of the drive. Minho let him sleep and instead sang to his playlist softly, occasionally glancing at the sleeping boy with loving eyes. With Jisung finally working at SKZ, the two were equally busy now. 

They worked on the magazine together ofcourse, but it was always strictly business ... minus the few times they'd pause and flirt for 30 minutes at a time. This little vacation would be a perfect time for the two to spend together.

Finally arriving at Jeongin's grandmother's house, his friends were in awe with how beautiful the place was. 

The architecture seemed based on old temples or ancient family homes surrounded by a wall and well trimmed trees. The home was painted a rich color of red with white accents. The large gate, however, was a clean black. Once through the gate, they were welcomed by a circle drive with a garden stretching from wall to wall.

"Damn! Innie, you didn't say your halmeoni was rich?" Felix said with astonishment. Jeongin laughed and shrugged, "Retirement money? My Pop's insurance money? It's always been like this." Hyunjin tried to stifle a laugh, but at Jeongin's words, he was basically cackling now. "Innie, that's the wildest way you could've worded that." Hyunjin said, between laughs. 

"Just warming you up for the kind of jokes halmeoni makes!"

As soon as Felix and the others parked and stepped out of the car, they stretched a moment before the sound crashing of waves met their ears. The sound was instantly calming, and with very little sounds of people laying on their horns or shouting for no apparent reason, it was an extremely nice change of pace.
