Ashlyn was never one for texting. With never knowing the right thing to say and just being an awkward and antisocial person in general, it was an easy to draw conclusion. She never gave out her number to anyone before, so this ... was weird.
It's nearly just as bad as talking with people just without the in-person crap. So, she prefers no oneall up in her business. At all.
Yet, oddly enough she didn't mind texting the group. She wrote up more than she's ever done with her parents — more than 'yes', 'no', and 'idk'.
Maybe dad was more right than you thought.
She heard her phone ding just as she laid down. She grabbed her phone from the bed side table and stared at the text under the time on her Lock Screen.

( "Did she just laugh!?" Mike whispered, looking down at his wife leaning against Ashlyn's door. Pressing his ear against the door more - trying to hear another.
"Oh my god," Emma whispered. "She likes them."
She looked up at her husband - a second later, a huge smile crossed both of their faces. The pressed their ear's against the door on last time before quietly rushing back into their room.
As the laid in bed, hand in hand, Emma smiled.
"She's finally got friends." )
