He shakes his head, huffing out a sigh which I believe is his way of saying, 'I cannot believe this shit.' He better start to. If it's making Bugu happy, he gotta do it.
Once the class is over and the teacher leaves, Falak immediately turns around and slams the textbook we were just studying from, on Sahil chest. Yug curls up laughing like some gone case, which he definitely is. I watch her go for another smack with her face all puffed up in anger. Sahil takes the hit, chuckling.
"Why are you so mean to me? What did I ever do to you?" She whines and I continue gazing at her being so cute even when she's throwing a little fit.
"You exist." Sahil put his index finger on her cute buttony nose and taps it a few times. She goes to swat his hand away but he removes it before she can so she ends up swatting her nose instead of his hand which results in Yug and Sahil doubling up in laughter. I tsk inching closer and rubbing her nose. She gives me a pout, pulling out her lower lip and puppy eyes. I caress her cheeks lightly.
"I need to use the washroom." She says raising up from the seat, Yug side steps to let her out. She heads out of the classroom meanwhile I turn back to the idiots I call best friend.
"When will you stop teasing her?" I ask genuinely, eyeing both of them. Sahdev more than Yug though.
"When she breaks up with you." Sahdev smirks.
"So, never?" At my response, the smirk washes off. He gives me the middle finger making me chuckle.
The next class starts without any sign of her. When I continue to look at the door, Sahdev shares a worried glance with me. "I'll go check." Yug stands up from the seat when she doesn't return even when the science class is halfway through. He takes the permission of the teacher and right then she enters with another classmate of ours–Chehak.
Since Yug took the permission, he had to leave. Falak comes to the desk, dropping Chehak to hers on the way. Her eyes never comes at me.
"Falak..." I mumble gently, reaching out to touch her elbow. She withdraws her hand from my reach, sliding to the edge of the chair. Sahil and I share a look at her being so reserved all of sudden. Sahil slides closer, making sure his voice is loud enough for only the four of us. "Who drove over your dog?" He pokes her upper arm, she doesn't respond and continues looking at the teacher.
Falak's a dog lover. She wants to have a dog so bad but her parents can't because firstly, they are busy growing their business and cannot take the responsibility of a pet. They already feel so guilty that they have to miss out on so much of Falak's life because of their business. In addition to that, Falak's grandfather hates dogs. Since dogs are one such sad topic for her, Sahdev obviously makes statements about her favourite little things hurting in several ways; in return to which she fights with him.
I lean back on the chair and stretch my foot to touch hers, away from all the eyes like I do usually. When my foot touch hers, she slightly jumps in her chair but then realises it's me, I wait for her to tilt her head sideways and give me that breath-taking smile. But she takes away her legs from my reach. Even though my heart aches, I give up and wait for the class to be over. My eyes never straying away from her, watching her pull away from not only me but also Sahil and Yug.
The moment class ends, Falak gets up and heads to Chehak who has started crying as soon as the teacher left. I tap my foot, controlling the urge of pulling her aside and asking her the reason of her sadness. Watching her in despair, physically aches me. I watch her engulf Chehak in hug. Falak rubs her back soothing her. I'm looking at the girls and then suddenly there's Sahil beside them. I look at the empty chair beside me and then back to them. Sahil whispers something to Falak, she pays no heed and the next moment, he's tugging her out of the classroom.
