They walked down the medical wing with their heads slightly down, ignoring the curious glances from the doctors and nurses. They remained alert, their eyes constantly scanning for Minho.

"Code 22 in progress. All R-16 personnel report to their assigned stations."

Thea heard the familiar movements of the soldiers behind them, closing in. She quickly shoved Thomas and Newt into a room full of medical supplies. Her eyes widened slightly as she noticed the glass wall. They immediately scanned the room for a place to hide, realizing their best option was to press themselves tightly against the wall. Thomas followed her lead, with Newt moving beside him.

She peeked over her shoulder to see the guards passing by. She let out a quiet sigh of relief and gave a subtle nod to the two boys. Newt began to move toward the exit, and Thomas and Thea quickly followed.

"All R-16 personnel report to their assigned stations."

As they hurried down the hall, weaving through the rush of doctors and nurses, Newt and Thea noticed Thomas had stopped. They paused and approached him, noticing his gaze flicker toward them before landing on Janson. In a sudden motion, Janson pulled out his gun and aimed it at Thea while she was distracted.

"Thomas! Thea! No!" Shots rang out, and Newt grabbed both Thomas and Thea, pulling them out of harm's way just before Janson's bullet had a chance to hit. Sparks flew as the bullets struck nearby objects, the three of them ducking and running.

Thomas and Newt both cocked their large taser guns, and Thea followed suit, pulling her handgun as they rushed down the hall.

"Minho! Minho!" Thomas shouted, searching rooms and hallways.

A soldier rounded the corner, preparing to shoot. Thea let Thomas and Newt take the shot, not wanting to waste ammunition. More soldiers emerged, and she turned down another hallway, calling to the boys, "Boys, come on!" They followed quickly, and she called out for Minho again. "Minho! Minho, where are you?"

"Minho!" the two boys shouted in unison.

The two boys fired from the front, while Thea handled soldiers from the side, as more began to surround them. They quickly turned a corner and skidded to a stop. "Thea, Newt, get down!" Thomas yelled, pulling them both to the ground beside him, against the wall.

"I'm almost out," Thomas muttered over the sounds of bullets hitting the wall. He grabbed his handgun, peering around the corner, and fired at the soldiers. Newt moved toward a fallen soldier, spotting a bomb on his belt. He grabbed it, pulled the pin, and tossed it toward the enemy, quickly grabbing Thomas and Thea, practically throwing them against the wall with him. The explosion sounded moments later, and the three of them quickly got to their feet.

"Nice," Thomas said, patting Newt on the shoulder with a small smile.

Thea moved to the fallen guard, collecting his guns and magazines, making sure they were loaded. She noticed the two boys waiting for her. "Go! I'll catch up."

The boys ran off, turning the corner, but they stopped in their tracks as a lone soldier appeared, his gun aimed at them. "You two, freeze! Get on the ground. Now! I said, get your-"

Before he could finish, a body hurtled toward him, knocking him into the wall. The soldier screamed, but the boy shoved him through a window. The soldier let out one final yell before falling silent.

The boy stood up, panting heavily. Slowly, he lifted his head, revealing himself to be Minho. Without wasting a second, Thomas and Newt rushed toward him, pulling him into a tight hug. Reluctantly, they pulled away, staring at him for a moment. His eyes were bloodshot, and his skin was pale.

"Is this real?" Thomas asked.

The two boys nodded, grins wide on their faces.

Thea rounded the corner, laughing with her back to them as she glanced down the corridor. "Those soldiers will regret coming for..." She stopped mid-sentence, turning to face Minho. "...us." Her voice came out in a whisper.

Minho opened his mouth to speak, but before he could, Thea ran up to him, kissing him passionately and wrapping her arms around him. When they pulled away for air, they stared into each other's eyes.

"I love you. I love you so fucking much," Thea whispered, a quiet laugh escaping her lips.

Minho smiled. "I’ve waited so long to hear that."

Their moment was cut short as a soldier appeared around the corner, shouting, "I got 'em!"

Thea and Minho quickly pulled away from each other and took off running, with Newt and Thomas close behind. They followed Thomas down the corridor, skidding to a stop when Janson and a few other soldiers blocked their path, guns raised, bullets flying toward them.

"This way!" Thomas shouted, pushing through a door. The others quickly followed, and Thea locked the door behind them, stepping back as the soldiers struggled against it. Minho and Newt quickly barricaded the door with a metal cabinet full of supplies.

They scanned the room for an exit but found none. The sound of a saw cutting through the door grabbed their attention. Minho looked around, his voice raising over the noise. "Any ideas?"

Thea stopped in front of a large window, looking down to see a small pond below. She bit her lower lip. "Maybe." Thomas moved to her side as she pointed to the pond, giving him a pointed look. "It’s doable. Just need a little running start."

Minho gave her a crazed look after peering down. "First, you almost get yourself killed by a bullet, and now you’re trying to kill us all? What kind of trouble have you been getting into without me?"

Newt snorted. "All kinds of trouble. You wouldn’t believe it."

Thea rolled her eyes but smiled despite herself. Her smile faded when she heard the saw getting closer. "Okay, we need to decide if we’re doing this now."

They all exchanged knowing looks and nodded. Thomas and Minho worked together to throw a large tank through the window, testing if it would break. It did. Thea peered down, watching it land in the pond below.

"Alright, no one land on that," she said, making the boys chuckle as they took their positions beside her.

They all backed up to get a running start. Newt gave her a skeptical look. "You sure about this?"

She swallowed, shaking her head slightly. "No, not really."

Minho shot her a look. "Nice pep talk."

"Yeah, we’re all bloody inspired," Newt added dryly.

The whirring of the saw stopped, and they started toward the window. Their eyes widened when the door burst open, and Thea and Minho clasped hands, sharing a look.

"If I’m dying, you’re coming with me," Minho said quickly.

"We gotta go!" Thomas yelled, and they all ran toward the window, jumping out.

They screamed as they freefell through the air toward the water below. Thea and Minho kept their hands tightly clasped, pulling close to each other so they wouldn’t crash into the concrete. Just before hitting the water, they tucked their knees up, bracing themselves, and squeezed their eyes shut.

They hit the cold water with a splash and quickly made their way to the surface, checking to make sure everyone had made it. Thomas raised his hand and then flipped Janson the middle finger, glaring down at them from above. The four of them quickly swam to the edge and climbed out.

Minho gave Thea another crazed look as he placed his hands on her shoulders from behind. "I swear to God, we’re never doing that again, Thea."

She smirked, turning around in his arms as he lowered his hands to her waist. "Oh, shut up, you loved it."

Instead of responding, they pulled each other into another kiss, this one sweet and gentle, but long.
