After a surprising conflict and unexpected events, the group decided it was best for them to leave considering their situation. Luckily, they were fortunate to not have sustained any serious injuries during their altercation. They were only left with bruises and dirt, but none of them suffered any major harm. Ashlyn reached out to her dad to ask for a ride home after their fun and lively time was over. At the same time, Y/N also decided to contact her dad.
Shortly after, Ashlyn realized that while she would be leaving with the rest of the group, Y/N would be left alone at the arcade. However, Y/N was not bothered by this because it would help clear her mind.
After waiting inside for a while for Ashlyn's dad, the group decided to go outside and wait since her dad said he would be there in a few minutes. As they waited, there was a silence that felt slightly awkward, with some lingering tension after the recent events. After a few minutes, Ashlyn's dad, Mike, arrived in the jeep and observed the group, noticing their current condition.
"…What happened to you guys?"
Y/N observed the group getting into the vehicle, noticing a hesitant look in their eyes as if they were unsure about leaving her alone.
"Do you really not want me to come back for you? I can call your dad and let him know I got it." Mike's generous offer made her think for a moment. The girl thought it would be efficient, but she didn't want to be a burden since she had already made a call beforehand.
"It's okay. I already contacted him and he's on his way, but thanks." Y/N then looked at the others and said, "I guess I'll see you guys later then."
The redhead nodded and as they were about to leave, Y/N called out, "Um, hey Ashlyn." Ashlyn's gaze turned towards Y/N. "Thanks for this. I kind of feel like I needed some outdoor activities," Y/N said, placing a hand on the back of her neck. She glanced to the side and mumbled to herself, "Even if it's not my thing."
"Let's remember that we all came up with this idea together." Tyler made a comment from the back, rolling his eyes. "Overall, the experience was just okay."
"Yeah, it was an okay experience, for the most part at least." She thought about the earlier confrontation with Barron's group, which made her sigh and push that thought away. "Yeah, I know. I can't say I don't agree."
"Well, I'm glad you had fun at least, while it lasted." Taylor said solemnly as her shoulders slouched, feeling a bit dejected.
"We'll try to get back with an explanation once we figure things out."
"Alright. See you." Y/N gave a slight wave.
Y/N stood still as the car drove away, feeling the breeze and the quietness around her. Waiting outside, she couldn't stop thinking about the strange emotions they had all just gone through. The lingering feeling reminded her of Ashlyn's words. This sudden shift in behavior among them could lead to more worry and confusion within the group. It was new and unsettling, meaning there was still a lot of mystery to uncover in the phantom world and their connection to it.
Y/N sat quietly, absorbing the peaceful surroundings. She breathed in gently through her nose, letting her gaze wander around the empty parking lot. She sat at the edge of the pavement, deep in thought with her hand on her cheek. Unlike before, her face was now clean, no longer covered in dust and dirt. She looked down at the road with a somewhat bored expression. Suddenly, she recalled the intense anger she had felt earlier, a strong agitation that seemed to be holding her back from being herself. This feeling urged her to act out of character, making her wonder if others in the group felt the same way.
