Ch. 1: End of the Summer

"Hey, it's not all bad!", Flareon responded, just as Umbreon and Jolteon sat at the table.

"Man, can't believe summer's almost over. Feels like we first started high school just yesterday.", Jolteon said.

"Yeah, but remember guys, this is a huge step for all of us! We're all reaching a new part of our lives! This could be great!", Flareon said.

"Kinda sucks that mom and dad weren't here to watch us start.", said Vaporeon.

"To be fair, Vaporeon, Mom would probably be taking loads of pictures of us before the bell rang, and we would probably be late by the time she took like her 900th photo!", said Jolteon.

"Meh, I guess you're right.", Vaporeon responded.

"I just hope they'll be back soon......", Umbreon said quietly, just loud enough for everyone at the table to hear.

"They said they would be back next week.", said Flareon.

"You alright Umbreon? You have another nightmare?", Vaporeon asked.

Umbreon nodded.

"Aw man, that sucks. Don't worry, bro! The pancakes will lift your spirits!", said Flareon.

Umbreon smiled slightly before taking a bite out of the pancake, immediately feeling better by its extraordinary taste.

"There you go! Feel better?", Flareon asked.

"Much better. Thanks man!", Umbreon said, smiling.

"Anytime man. Now we know that my cooking can battle the evil power that is in nightmare!", Flareon shouted. Suddenly, they heard footsteps coming from upstairs coming down the stairs.

"*yawn*, morning guys.", said Eevee.

"Morning, Eevee! How'd you sleep?", Vaporeon asked.

"Fine, till you guys woke me up with your shouting.", Eevee said.

"What were you dreaming about that was so important, huh?", said Jolteon.

"Oh, nothing. Anyways, Umbreon, you doing ok? I can see tear marks in your fur.", said Eevee.

"Yeah, at least now I am. I had another nightmare last night, but it's ok now. Flareon's pancakes cheered me up. You should have some. They taste extra fresh today!", Umbreon said.

"Oh gladly. Happy to see you're feeling better, Umbreon!", said Eevee, grabbing a plate of pancakes. She then sat down at the table.

"So, gang! What are we all excited for this school year?", Flareon asked.

"Well, I'm happy that I'll get to see all my buddies from the football team again this year!", said Jolteon.

"I hope to maybe find a way to get snacks from the vending machine for free again.", said Vaporeon.

"I hope to join another cooking class again! What about you, Umbreon?", said Flareon.

"Hmm, I haven't decided. I'll probably decide later on.", said Umbreon.

"Ah, I see. Well don't worry man! This year is gonna be great! I can feel it!", Flareon said with excitement.

"I just hope to see all my friends again at my school! I'm so excited about starting junior high!", said Eevee.

"Are you sure it's not because of Pikachu?", said Jolteon with a smirk. Eevee blushed.

"Hah! I knew it!", Jolteon shouted.

"SHUT UP JOLTEON!!!!", shouted Eevee.

"And you said we were being loud.", Vaporeon added.

"Enough, guys. What else is there to look forward too?", Umbreon asked.
