Deadlines are set well in advance, with as much staff input as possible, so you should be well aware of when they're coming up.
If you miss a deadline but the magazine hasn't come out yet, you can send it in last-minute and it might get in.
If you're too late to get your article in and the issue comes out without your input, you'll be put under "On Probation" on our staff list. (Check the chapter titled Staff List to see what we mean.)
If you get your article in next time, you're moved off of there, no problem.
If you miss two issues in a row, without communicating or explaining what's going on, we'll assume that you don't want to work with us anymore and we'll take you off the staff.
Remember that you can always re-apply, or even just pitch in a single article once in a while.
