I'll Be Better

I didn't cheat

"Alright. What about watching something?"

"I'm down. There was this movie I was watching. I fell asleep, so I didn't get very far. I was like fifteen or so minutes in."

"Alright. What was it called?"

Ddot takes the laptop and types it in. 

They are watching the first few minutes of it when Ddot says, "This gives me so many good memories. I first watched this movie with Notti. It was during the best part of our relationship." Ddot says smiling. "Before everything. Before he changed." He says sighing, his smile going away.

"Did I change?" DD ask curiously.

"Yeah. In a good way." Ddot smiled. "You're sweeter, kinder, more caring, more considerate, smarter-"

"Really? You think that of me?" DD interrupts smiling

"I wasn't even done, but yeah. You used to be more selfish and rude and disregard everyone else, but not anymore. I like this DD the best."

"Me, too."

There is silence as they turn and focus on the movie.

THREE DAYS LATER:

DD and Ddot have been hanging out after school everyday. Right now they were eating lunch with Notti and Ocatvia. (I give up on putting her full name.)

Ddot glanced up at DD and gave him a small smile. DD gives him one back. 

Notti was talking to Ddot who wasn't even paying attention, so he kisses his forehead to get his attention.

This confuses Ddot, who turns to Notti. They stare at each other both waiting for a response from the other. Ddot gets tired of staring and turns away.

"Bro, why are you ignoring me?" Notti says frustrated and hurt.

"I'm not. You're just being annoying." 

"Seriously?" Notti asked feeling really hurt.

"I didn't mean it like that. I just...I'm not in the mood right now." Ddot tries to backtrack. 

"Me, too." Notti says getting up from the table.

"Where are you going?" Ddot asks confused.

"Somewhere else." He replies walking away.

Ddot kisses his teeth. He turns toward DD and sees Octavia all over him. She had been more touchy with him lately.

"Could you not?" Ddot asks annoyed and jealous.

"Why? He's my boyfriend." Octavia says confused and annoyed.

"Too much PDA." Ddot lies.

"Then turn away." Octavia says with an attitude.

"Octavia, baby, he asked nicely." DD says taking her hands off of himself.

Ddot gives DD another smile, this one bigger than the last. Octavia glares at Ddot.

AFTER SCHOOL:

DD was texting Octavia.

The plan is finally working. 

Really?

Yeah. Me and Ddot been hanging out everyday after school including today.

What have you guys been doing?

We just hang out and watch movies and stuff, but we've been getting closer.
