Now I stood there, swallowing the lump in my throat, as I was about 1/2 a mile away from this beast. Watching him smell through the ground, he deeply turned his body my way and started stalking towards me with quick struts.
His nose is on the ground. My hands begin to sweat from fear of rubbing my hand on the jeans of my pants. Darting my head quickly at any change of direction would ensure my greatest chance of survival. He was heading toward me. I take out my dagger, holding it tightly in my hand.
My heart was beating incredibly fast. I make a quick decision to take off in the other direction, stepping on a twig. Fuck fuck fuck, I look down at my foot and the crushed twig that broke under my boot. I squeeze my eyes shut and look back in the direction of the menacing creature as if he knew my intentions.
Now he darts his head from the ground, and his ears move as if he were listening to all the sounds that echo through the depths of the forest surrounding him. His eyes lock on me. I feel fear as he quickens his pace upon seeing me.
Now, my mom didn't raise a fool; he ran towards me, and I did what any sane rational woman who feared for her life would do. I ran and I ran and ran the trees blurring my senses sharping.
However, my reflexes didn't match up, and stray branches cut into my body. Making me hiss. I look behind my shoulder and see a scowl as he growls, watching me run away from him. He wants to kill me, and I'm certain of it. He was tired of snapping his teeth on the back of my shirt as if to grab me with his razor-blade teeth.
I screamed when I noticed his proximity. I wasn't expecting tripping on a rock lingering on my path. My body hurled forward. My hands instinctively pushed forward to protect myself. I accidentally let go of my means of any kind of protection.
What I hoped would be a quick fall, where I found myself getting up quickly in hopes of losing him, unfortunately, wasn't on the cards for me. I fell and fell. My hands reached out to grab anything I could reach. Dirt was the only thing I was able to grasp as it went in between my fingers.
I was whining at the impact my body made as it continued to tumble down. My arm hits a tree, and I hear a snap. I swallow the air in my mouth out of pain. As I continue to fall downward and still reach out for something anything. The rockslide was inflicting pain all over my body as I stumbled down. An intense pain shot up my leg as it hit a sharp boulder.
My vision started to have swirls and dots as my body was in pain. The last thing I needed was to get this hurt. I was thinking I'd die from the circumstances of my fall. The last thing I remember was my head slamming into the earth, and my vision somehow got worse. I felt faint in a way, slowly losing consciousness.
Get up! Get up! Get up! He has to be close at this point. Please. I tell myself my body is not responding to what my mind says. My body was in excruciating pain. My vision was fading slowly when the wolf who had been desperately chasing me was in my face, lightly sniffing my face. I blink a couple of times, slowly trying to stay conscious. When he shifted, I could only see his bare feet.
I felt my shirt being torn a couple of times and tourniquets being tied tightly around my leg and arm. The pressure was placed on my skull as well. Soft whimpers left my mouth. "Tsk tsk tsk ..Mate I've found you. Why did you have to run?"My vision slowly disappeared, turning into a black void.
The gig was up, and my fate had been sealed. Heaven, here I come. I knew they would waste no time killing me, for which I'd be thankful.
