The Return Of Them

Funnehs pov

I thought the challenge was easy but I soon humbled. As it got darker it became more and more creepy, to the point I forced Lunar to attempt a protection spell on everyone. I kept seeing weird figures, almost as if there was some sort of girl with a knife. Lunar looked almost distressed when she couldn't manage. Everyone was staring at her enquiringly. I don't blame why she couldn't do it. She was of course extremely shy and couldn't control her magic, so the eyes on her made it much, much, much harder for her. She collapsed on me after her 5th try. I held her close in the water. It was starting to get cold yet her body was sizzling hot as if she had a bad fever.

"Are you feeling okay?" I whispered to her. Her eyes were glued shut. "I- I'm fine...let me try again!" she said, in a drunk voice. She couldn't be drunk of course. She was way to sensible in that way. And anyways where would she get the drinks from. I sighed. "No. Your not trying again!" I said in a firm voice whilst she struggled. She normally could get out of my grip easily but she just fell on me. "Do you feel sick?" I asked. She shook her head. "Headache...its just apart of spells..." she mumbled. Then, with a bang, slipped out of my hands. She went underwater for a moment before coming up with white eyes.

"HAS SHE GONE BLIND?!" Evan yelled, looking frightened. I laughed nervously. "Of course n-not Evan!" I said quickly. Rainbow swam in front of me. "Don't be silly guys...its the protection spell! She's managed it. Her eyes are white with magic!" she sounded sure as well. I whispered in her ear. "Are you sure?" She nodded. "Don't tell her but I was going through her books and saw." I laughed knowing Lunar would probably find out herself. Lunar began to shrink and I realized she was struggling to keep up. I grabbed at her. "Steady..." I said. "Evan can you try lure her back to life or something?" I asked. "Why me?" Evan groaned, but he looked pleased. "Well you did it last time, you brought her emotions back!" I swam up to him and dragged him beside Lunar. "Try."

Evans pov

I took Lunar by the shoulders and lifted her up and held her there so she wouldn't sink again. I placed my head against hers. Someone wolf whistled. I went red. I life my head of hers.

"Look can you guys not watch? It's just uncomfortable and weird." I said. The others laughed but Rainbow nodded. "Stop it. It was our fault in the first place Lunars like this so let's just leave them, let's go into the other pool." she said, glancing at Lunar. The others stopped laughing. The Krew looked at Lunar but the others looked confused. "How is it our fault?" Kyran asked. "Lunar doesn't do well under pressure or people watching her but I forgot and didn't realize and Lunar just doesn't have the heart to tell us. Now let's go!" and with that they all left into the other pool. I placed my head back onto hers.

"Well here goes nothing..." and I gently began whispering to her. "Well here we are again doing the same stunt. What's with you and going blank huh?" I said. I began whispering softly for her to wake up. I said it over and over again. I knew one way to do this. But I couldn't. Especially not to her. She would hate me for it...

But I had to try. So I gently grabbed her under the chin and moved my lips towards hers. I kissed her.

Lunars pov

I jerked backwards.

"Ughh..." I groaned. "My head..." then I realized what someone had just done. My eyes felt bright but blurred and I couldn't see who had just done it. I could just make out a black silhouette painted a pale colour. I stood back, blinking, trying to get my eyesight to work.

"Lunar...?" A familiar voice whispered. I lifted my hands to my eyes and rubbed. The person came back into view. I blinked harder. The person shook me by the shoulders and I could suddenly see again. It was so vibrant and vivid colours I almost forgot where I was. "Lunar it's me Evan..." he said. I wasn't surprised. Of course they'd gotten him to do it. All the same I went red. It wasn't unsual I did that. It sounds weird but I prefer big groups, so I can slowly fade into the background. But in 1 to 1s you feel their attention is all on you. This was anonymously triggering my social anxiety.

"Not surprised." I said, covering up for my face. I rubbed at my eyes. "Why is it so bright?" I asked. He smiled. "Because your eyes are still white. Which means your fine but you've done the protection spell so it may mean you'll be tired." he warned me. I gaped. I'd never done a protection spell. I've never done a proper spell. I mean I did small magic tricks like make myself float or whatever but...that was the first actual spell I'd managed. "What's up? Are you alright?" he questioned. "N-No- Nothing..." I said, changing my tone. He raised his eyebrows and suddenly came closer. "What's the matter?" he said, his voice becoming darker. I backed away, falling into the water. I had forgotten we were in the pool. I grabbed at him and pulled me back so he was holding me by the waist. I blushed. Normally I shouldn't have cared about the placement considering I wasn't interested in love but I couldn't unfeel it. Or maybe that was just because he didn't let go. He held on tighter.

"I said what's the matter." he sounded calmer now but his grip stayed tight. I struggled, going red. "Nothing!" I said, noticing that no one was around. That's odd, I thought. "I can tell there's something wrong." he said. "Fine! I've never done a proper spell before! So I was surprised!" I said, annoyed. He laughed and dropped me. "Seriously? All the drama for that?" he said. I fell into the water. "No! Your just a complete pervert!" I replied, rubbing at my hips where he'd held to tightly. He went red but said nothing. "Where's the others?" I asked. He pointed to the other pool. "GUYS I DID IT!" he yelled. I covered my ears as they jumped around me. I felt sick as water spun around me. Then, I felt someones arm on me. It was Rainbow.

Rainbows Pov

"Give her a break!" I said, taking Lunars arm. She looked so distressed it made me feel scared. I led her into a corner of the room and let her collapse on me. The Krew followed.

"We can come to right?" Draco asked. "Of course..." Lunar said sleepily. I nodded. "Just be quiet. She needs rest..." I told the others, gently coaxing Lunar to sleep. "Can we just end the challenge and go in?" Gold asked. Funneh shook her head. "I'm not giving up! I want this to be fun!" she said. She convinced us to go on but I held Lunar close to my chest so we could sleep. We went into the shallow end and slept. I couldn't fall asleep for ages. I refused to let Lunar go.

"I need to look after her! She could easily drown even here in the shallow end! I read about it on her books!" then I covered my mouth in case she heard. She was fast asleep. "Fine..." Funneh agreed, and with that, we all lay down on the seats.
