(Will Pov)
I couldn't open my eyes. I probably could but I didn't want to at the moment.

Everything hurts. My arms stung from the air conditioner.

I love you. Such simple words that have such a deep meaning.

"Will?" Mikes voice echoed in my head.

"Leave me be, let me sleep." I choked out. My throat hurt. I didn't open my eyes and tried to let myself fall into a sleep.

"Will wake up." Mike sounded frantic and worried.

I tried to open my eyes but the strong medicine wouldn't let me stay awake.

(Mike Pov)
"Will wake up." I didn't want to shake him but he had to wake up. He didn't respond.

I look up at the steady beeps of the heart monitor. I lay back in the chair and run my hands through my hair. My eyes start to water.

Was this my fault? If I got there fast enough I could've stopped him.

My hands start pulling at my hair. The door creeps open.

I look up. The party is there. Some hand their hands over their mouths, and others just stood there.

"He's okay guys." I say.

I know it's a lie. He spoke what good does that do?

"So." Dustin said breaking the silence.

"Does anyone else think he looks like a robot?"

We all shoot him a glare and Lucas slaps him. "Ow! Just saying, jeez."

After a few more hours the doctor told us we had to go home.

"I have to stay mis." I say in my most polite tone. She raises an eyebrow. "Why is that?"

"I am actually making your job easier. See I should stay here becau-." "Ok, ok." She says rolling her eyes.

I do a silent celebration and go back to sitting on the bed.

"Mike?" Will spoke. "Yeah?"

"Im sorry."

I sat there confused.

"Don't be Will, you did nothing wrong." I run my hand through his hair. He flinches a bit. "My bad." I whispered.

"Now go back to sleep." I lay back and shut my eyes and drift off into a deep sleep.

(Will Pov)
My eyes flutter open for the first time in days.

I see Mike passed out in a chair. My arms are wrapped in bandages and my left leg is put up in a cast.

I try to shut my eyes again and try to fall back asleep but looking around made me wide awake.

"Will?" My eyes look around at Mike and I force a smile.

It was like 84 again. Waking up to him is almost like waking up to a beautiful sunrise.

"Hi Mike." I say. I try to keep my voice from cracking.

"A-are you okay?"

A laugh would hurt so bad right now. "Never been better."

He shoots me a look of concern and pulls his chair up closer to my bed.

"Can you tell me what happened?" A shiver went down my spine. "S-sure." I take a deep breath in.

"When I got off the phone with you I needed to chill. I was making my way over to Castle Byers and I heard something."

"The demodogs?" I force a nod.

"I went to go see what it was but I was too late. They attacked."

Mike places a gentle hand on my shoulder. "Im sorry I wasn't there." I smile.

"It's not your fault I am BASICALLY the flash."

He chuckles. "Did you find them?" I ask. "What?" "The demodogs."

He shakes his head. "Dustin saw two outside his house the day before." His face scowled but mine stayed calm.

I placed a shaky hand on his. "Don't be mad, Im okay." He nods his face filling up with heat.

We talk back and forth a bit more before the party walks in.

"Will the wise! My guy!" I laugh. "How are you is everything okay?" El says in a rushed tone.

"Everythings alright."

"Im sorry Will. I should have killed them when I saw-." I cut him off. "Dustin chill Im good." He sighed and pretended to wipe a tear from his eye.

"Wait Mike." Lucas said. He looked up. "How did you get in yesterday? The lady at the desk told us we had to be family or partner."

Mikes face heated up. "Mike Byers?" I sneered. He chuckled. "You wish."

Yeah Mike. I really do.

"Wait a minute." Dustin says looking Mike dead in the eyes.

"You said partner didn't you!"
