Artificially Organic

*3rd person POV*

Eva steps out of the golf cart, adjusting her skirt before starting the walk through the trees. She was nervous that someone was going to see her walk towards the building that is supposed to be abandoned. Every employee knows it's condemned, a health hazard to be near and cant be taken down. Or at least that's the lies that the CEO has spread.

Eva carefully watches for small branches and pebbles on the old path, she wasn't wearing heels but her current flat shoes don't offer much protection in terms of stepping on a sharp rock. After a couple of minutes of walking she sees the building surrounded by a bunch or large wild trees, branches moving in the light breeze. It was pretty peaceful actually, not something you would expect the outside of a building of its nature to look like. It definitely didn't look like a building that would keep people trapped. She breathed in and out before walking towards the door.

As she got close the front door opened, An out-of-shape Man in a white lab coat came out. His skin was a bit pale, like he hadn't been outside much. And his dark hair was messy, as if he hadn't had the time for self care in a while. He adjusted his glasses before looking at Eva,

"Good afternoon Miss Eva, Glad you made the time to come here." Dr. Garcia said, holding the door open. Eva quickly glanced at the condemned notice on the other door.

"Is this building really a public health concern?" She asked, pointing at the paper.

"Oh, no it's not! I mean the building is old but we just put that there so no one would go snooping around" He explained, allowing Eva to walk into the main lobby. She looked around at the dusty chairs, similar to the type you'd find in a doctor's office. Dr. Garcia followed Eva in and showed her through the building towards the stairs. Passing closed office doors and cubicles that haven't been used in years.

"So uh... What did you need me here for again?" Eva asked, she knew the answer already but she wanted to break the uncomfortable silence.

"Ah yes, It's been a few days since Mr. {----} went into the circus. And as I've mentioned over the phone, he has been displaying some worrying behaviors" He started to explain, breathing a bit heavy from walking up the stairs.

"What type of behavior?" Eva continued, as they reached the floor they needed to be on. They walked through the door in front of the stairwell into a large room with a bunch of cubicles. Some Cubicles have a blue light shining from the old box computers, and other various machines connected to something in the chairs. Eva shivered slightly, she only heard of what was happening in this building. However, now that she was seeing it she really didn't like it. Mr. {----} always made sure she didn't have to know much about the circus project, shielding her from the truth.

"Follow me and I'll explain" Dr. Garcia said, motions Eva to follow him into an office on the other side of the large room. She did and as they got inside she realized it was bigger than she thought, a bunch of monitors stacked on top of desks up to the ceiling. There were 2 other people sitting at some chairs, one was eating a pizza while reading something on the screen. The other was typing something furiously while music blasted in their earbuds. It was too dark to see their faces clearly but she could tell they were focused.

"Sit here and let me show you" Dr. Garcia said, pulling up two office chairs at one of the main computer monitors. She sat down in one and Dr. Garcia sat in the other, typing something into the computer. Eva looked at the different monitors in the room, some had lots of words in what looked to be a coding program, some had images of colorful characters. Others showed what looked to be footage of what was actually going on in the game. Eva felt a bit overwhelmed at all of the information that surrounded her, and instead focused on the larger monitor in front of her. After a bit Dr. Garcia pulled up a couple of windows and turned to her.
