You slowly turned around to see Corvin standing mere feet behind you. He was deathly still with his fists clenched at either side of him, and letting out heavy and rasping breaths that sounded like the hissing of snakes. Although his face was lowered and obscured by his long, ghost-white hair, you could feel the venomous glare behind it.

"(Y/N). Give it back. Now." He demanded, his voice was low and held some reverberation like there were multiples of him speaking. The sound of it made a deep chill run down your back and your heart stopped for a moment; every inch of your body taut with terror. You stared at him for several seconds before finding the courage to swallow back the lump in your throat.

"No."

Corvin tilted his head up slightly: his furious glare and bared teeth made a cold fear pierce your heart, turning your blood into ice.

"(Y/N), do not make me do this."

"No," you repeated, clenching the key closer to your chest.

He stood still for several seconds before shaking his head, and grew taller until he stood at his full height of eleven-feet, his shadow engulfing yours. Wickedly-sharp black talons grew from his hands and shined like obsidian blades in the light. The back of his hands grew eyes in the center of them with black sclera and red pupils with a ring of gold surrounding the pupils. His already pale skin turned a deathly shade of white, and his full lips turned into a dark purple-gray shade and he bared sharp, white, shiny needlelike teeth that could easily rip flesh from bone.

But worst of all of these changes were his eyes. His gold and red irises decayed into empty, black socket and inside of them were glowing blood-red pinpricks with rings of hellfire-gold in the center. Staring into them was like looking into the very bowels of Hell; there wasn't so much as even a flicker of warmth in them, only a terrible fury that gripped your heart like a crow's talon. He let out a low snarl from the back of his throat as he continued to glare down at you.

You took a step back from the fairy looming over you. Horror filled you as he took a heavy step forward, his eyes never breaking from your (E/C) ones. You were never as terrified as you have been in your life. It felt as if thin fingers had gripped your throat-- preventing you from breathing as more clawed at your heart like a ravenous crow digging into a carcass. Every part of you was screaming for you to run, but you were frozen in place.

"Are you going to give it back?" He growled and extended a clawed hand towards you expectantly.

You stared at him with your gaping mouth and wide eyes. Every iota of your body was screeching for you to do something: scream, run, fight. Just anything besides staying there.

"Well, what is your answer?" He took a step towards you; his eyes made hot needles of terror pierce through your heart.

You gathered enough courage to slowly shake your head, your eyes still focused on his. Every muscle in your body felt like it was on fire and was readying to bolt at any second.

"(Y/N), I'm giving you one last chance: give it back right this moment before I have to do something I won't like." He demanded.

"No," your voice trembled and you held the key closer to your chest.

For several moments, he was completely still and a heavy, suffocating air filled the room like a miasma. Then he finally let out a blood-curdling roar and charged towards you. You screamed and jumped on the bed in time to avoid his claws. You slammed open the door and sprinted down the hallway, clutching the key to your heart.

"Get over here!" He screamed, his voice warped and barely human. It was deep and shook against the walls, making the paintings shake like terrified birds.
