Author pov:

In the prestigious Singhania family, Karan Singhania stood out as a beacon of talent and promise. As the youngest son of the esteemed businessman Kishore Singhania, Karan had garnered fame as the country’s youngest and most celebrated cardiologist. His brilliance in the medical field was matched only by the creative flair of his mother, a renowned painter whose artwork graced galleries worldwide, and the dazzling accomplishments of his elder sister, a celebrated actress known for her captivating performances.

Their older brother, Rahul Singhania, was the backbone of the family business, ensuring the family's commercial empire flourished, while the legacy of their grandfather, the founder of Singhania Corporation, remained a testament to their wealth and influence. Their family's longstanding friendship with the illustrious Rathore family further amplified their social status, weaving a rich tapestry of connections and prestige.

Yet today, the usually composed and confident owner of the hospital is a shadow of his former self. Dr Karan Singhania was overtaken by a wave of panic. The source of his distress was a singular patient, a girl entrusted to his care by his close friend, Ekansh. With her inexplicable disappearance looming over him, Karan’s mind spiralled into a frenzy, conjuring the worst possible scenarios that could ensue once Ekansh discovered the truth.

“Oh God, Ekansh is going to kill me!” Karan muttered in desperation, anxiously pacing the cramped confines of the waiting room, his heart racing with dread. “This is it, my life is over,” he lamented.

Finding a secluded corner of a patient room, he sank to the floor, tears cascading down his cheeks as he sobbed dramatically. His team of doctors, nurses, and young apprentices exchanged bewildered glances, grappling with the shocking sight of their usually steadfast Doctor unravelling before them.

“Dr. Singhania, are you alright?” his apprentice inquired cautiously, struggling to suppress a snicker at the scene unfolding before him.

Karan looked up, his face a mess of sorrow and distraught emotion. “No, I’m not okay! I lost the girl!” he wailed, clutching his chest as if the weight of his heartache would crush him entirely.

“And now Ekansh is going to skin me alive!” His voice echoed through the sterile room, filled with mounting panic.

The senior nurse, well-acquainted with Karan's exceptional skill and charm that had saved countless lives, stepped forward.
With a forceful effort to maintain her professionalism, she bit her lip, willing herself not to share in the mounting worry. “Doctor, it’s not time to cry right now. We are doing everything we can to find her,” she assured, her tone soothing yet firm.

“But it’s Ekansh! He is really going to kill me if we can’t find her!” Karan retorted, his voice rising in pitch, embodying a mix of fear and frustration.

One of the junior doctors leaned in to whisper to a colleague beside him. “Shouldn’t we be searching for her instead of standing around here?”

The other nodded in agreement, though their gaze was still glued to the distressed doctor.

Trying to restore some semblance of normalcy, the apprentice suggested, “Maybe we could revisit the CCTV room, Dr. Singhania?” Their voices mingled in unison aimed at lifting his spirits.
