A/N:I've kept publishing this then seeing it's not published let's see if it'll finally work
"There's something I've been wanting to tell you.", I say as I lay in my bed on my stomach.
"What is it?"Jerome asks sitting on the floor flipping through the free channels on my TV.
There's never anything interesting on, mostly news and old shows.
Probably end up giving up, and put some sitcom like 'Love That Baby'."So, yesterday before... everything- They gave a part in the sideshow: the whole tent, stage shit." I fumble with my hands.
I can see his body become stiff as he stops flipping through channels.
"I understand you don't want to stay here; I won't make you." I grab his hand, but he remains stiff. "I go where you go, Jerome. I know you don't care about your mom's death. But I still wanted to ask if it'd be alright if I performed tonight."
I was caught off guard as he jumped on me, pressing his lips onto mine as he held my face.
"You drive me so crazy, Halle." He chuckles, holding me tight.
I laugh, "Not really hard to do." I lean against him, smiling. "So, if I do it, will you come to the show?"
"I'm not crazy enough to miss it." He pulls back to my lips.
I return the kiss but stand up from the bed, "Well, then I better go speak to Mary if this show is gonna happen."
"So soon?" He wines, dropping his head dramatically on the bed.
"We have all the time in the world." I give him one last kiss before grabbing my backpack, "This show doesn't. Wish me luck."
I ran to Mary's trailer, but Mary wasn't there. It took a bit of running around, but I found her; hidden in a corner talking to John. When she spotted me coming their way she quickly glared at him and waved him away.
He rolled his eyes as he turned around, his expression quickly changed when he saw me, turning red as he ran away."What were the two of you talking about?" I smile, having a good idea as to what it could've been.
"Nothing." She shrugs trying to act casual. "Did you need something from me?"
"You could at least try to deflect better. I won't push you to spill though." After all, I'm keeping my plans to run away from her. "After all, there is something I wanted to talk to you about."
"Okay... What is it?" She looked intrigued.
"I was given an act in the sideshow. I was going to perform tonight, but then everything happened-"
"But everyone is performing tonight, why won't they let you perform?" She shakes her head, crossing her arms.
"I was the one thinking about not doing it."
She uncrosses her arms, "Oh. Why?"
"Well, Jerome's mom was killed and your uncle is-"
"If you think I don't want you to perform tonight because my uncle is in prison you're out of your mind." She shakes her head. "If anything should stop you is how dead we're going to be tonight. If no one shows up they'll close early, so you'd have no choice but to wait."
Unless Jerome and I were gone by then.
"I could always do a practice show. You could be an audience member." I say, wanting her to be there while I perform at least once.
"That'd be nice. You have the stage already set?"
I'm going to miss Mary the most.
I put on a happy smile, "Yeah, everything is set for tonight. All I need is a costume."
