(riku bites the zombie and nothing happens)

"Hm...maybe it was like a one shot thing with me?""Yeah...maybe." -'something isn't right'- "it might have to do with adrenaline.""that's an option"

(riku isn't special, but he's being misled)

-Les Pluies Brùlantes is an act, nothing is actually real, all the zombies are actors (mutanized actors)

-yann is an actor too, he was never a zombie

-the government wanted to set up an apocalypse (in France) to livestream to the rest of the world as a social experiment

-yann is an actor but hes only doing it to save his brother

-the beeps and buzzing that riku hears throughout "Inertia" are cameras and mini drones the government is using to broadcast everything

-riku isnt aware that the rest of the world is fine, and that they're watching him

"regardless, you're so heartless" riku fumed as tears rolled down his cheeks, "You led me into this- this darkness, and hid the truth behind that stupid 'harmless' face of yours!"

Yann shrunk back against the wall, his eyes teary

"And this! This crying! Was it all fake? Are you emotionless or something? I know you're running out of options, but come on! why are you doing this?!" Riku's cheeks turned pink and he straightened his posture, his eyes burned holes through yanns skull

"I- I just-" Yann started

"Stop, shut up. I dont want to hear it anymore. i cant. you really lived with me? I lived with you?!" he sobbed, "You're like a neurotoxin."

Yann suppressed a hiccup

"You know what? I'm going to wake up with a smile on my face every day after this knowing full well you were put up for adoption. Knowing you weren't wanted. I don't want you, no one ever did! You're filthy Yann."

He took a step closer

"Oh shit, i went there! But honestly? I don't care. you never tried to play fair with me."

Yann opened his mouth to say something but Riku stopped him

"Before you say anything, I don't want to say 'I'm sorry' i don't want to make amends with you,"he poked a finger against yann's chest, "I will never make a mistake like you ever again."
Riku seethed, fighting the tears that built up again

he'd never cried for someone beforehe'd never been so angry, or so hurthe'd never built a relationship that he was so grateful for, other than his sister
and now the only friend that he thought of as a brother, revealed that he never truly cared?

he was just acting?

"I don't wanna be cool, or friends, or anything anymore. Yann, you did me so dirty. And for what? FOR WHAT?!"

Yann sniffled and wiped his tears, "I love you, Riku, you know that. You're my best friend..."

Riku stared at him in disgust

"I'll miss you..." Yann pleaded

"You'll miss me? That's so funny. Shit's history now, Yann."

"I'm sorry, please!"

"I don't give a f*ck about you any more, Yann. Go get lost." Riku lifted a hand to point to the exit

Yann looked at him with glossy eyes, his freckles popping out against his red, irritated, cheeks. He reached out a hand and grabbed Riku's shirt sleeve. Yann opened his mouth but before he could say anything, he pulled Riku into a hug and held tight.

"Let me the f*ck go!" Riku spat, wriggling around to get free

"I'm sorry."

"SHUT THE F*CK UP!!"

Riku heard a click and looked to the side of Yann's head to see a gun, cocked and poised at his ex-friend's own head.

"I'm sorry," Yann whispered, "I just wanted to hug you one last time before I die."

The shot rang out and Yann slumped against Riku. The brunette's breathing picked up. Sure, he was angry but he didn't want Yann to die, much less kill himself.
Riku let his eyes grow wide and he caught Yann's body before he hit the ground.

"Yann...?" He said quietly, pressing two fingers to Yann's neck.

No pulse.

"Yann..." He said again, "Yann!"

President Mallard's sickening smile grew wider and wider as he watched through the one way mirror. Yann stood next to him, shaking like a leaf in the wind. He just watched himself die. The thought ran through his head over and over as he watched Riku sob into his hands.
