Today is a big one for Billie and as her assistant, it's a big day for me too. She's been asked to present an award at the Oscar's. Normally she doesn't attend these shows, because there's really no need. However, because since they specifically requested her presence, she won't decline this invitation. That means that we've been working our asses off for weeks to get her ready; deciding her dress and makeup as well as her security for the night.
Since she doesn't normally attend these things, it was a bit out of everyone's comfort zone. I've been by her side through the whole thing, we've been glued to the hip pretty much. She's wanted me around a lot more these days and I can only assume it's because she wants a familiar face amidst the chaos. The time is winding down and suddenly she shoos everyone out. They give her concerned looks but take the order and I start to file out behind them.
"Not you"
I don't turn around and she calls my name which gets my attention.
"You stay. Everyone else out, please"
So then it's just me and Billie in the room and I await further instruction. She points to a chair and I hurry to sit, watching carefully as she walks around the room. I try not to stare as she drops her robe and slips on the pretty dress she picked out a few days ago. I hear her getting closer and I look up to see her smiling at me so I return it, though it's a bit forced due to my nerves. She stops in front of me and turns around, slowly bending her knees until she's gently perched on my lap.
"Zip me?"
Sure, she may have posed it like a question but this was a command and we both knew that. So I carefully zip her, being mindful to keep my hand on respectful areas while still not lingering too long. She stands up once I'm done and to say her next move was unexpected... a hell of an understatement. She stepped into one of her heels and I was about to bend down to do them when she lifted her leg and pressed the heel to my chest.
"Tie me up, would you?"
Now, I know she only said that because she chose heels with the strings that go around her calves but come on. I know it's suggestive and it's only confirmed when I look up, as I take the strings, and see her smirking. I take my time wrapping it around her legs, making sure it looks pretty. Her flirtatiousness doesn't usually bother me, she's like that all the time, but even this is a bit extreme for her.
I chalk it up to the nerves and that she's just trying to keep things playful, which I'm always up for. I repeat the same process on the other one, only this time she rested it on my thigh, balancing herself with a hand on her knee which put more pressure on my leg. When she moved her foot and saw the little indent on my leg she apologized, kissing her hand and rubbing it gently to which I tried my hardest to not react. I simply smiled and stood up, assuring her I was fine.
"So there's something I may have forgotten to tell you"
I raise my eyebrows as she bites her lips and raises her shoulders, her eyes showing a glint of anxiety. She turns and walks over to the rack which previously held the dress she now wears, along with a few others the stylist brought just in case. She takes one off after reading the label and she motions me over.
"This one's for you..."
She unzips the bag and my eyes widen as I see the dress/suit, it's gorgeous. My eyes meet hers again and I shake my head, taking a step back as I chuckle in disbelief. I assume she must be joking until I look back at her to see she's not laughing.
"Please?"
I can hear the hesitancy in her voice, her eyes frequently darting away from mine. I've never seen her like this before and I don't know why she's all of a sudden so nervous. I close the gap I created, placing a hand comfortingly on her arm.
