The morning sun filtered through the curtains of Rohit's hotel room, signaling the start of another day on the road with the Indian cricket team. As the city slowly awakened outside, inside the room, a series of clatters and rustles could be heard. Suddenly, a loud bang followed by uproarious laughter echoed through the hallway."Virat, you moron!" Rohit's voice rang out, a mix of exasperation and displeasure.
In the adjoining room, Virat Kohli chuckled mischievously, knowing full well what havoc he had wreaked. It was their daily ritual – Virat's way of ensuring Rohit was up and ready for the day ahead, no matter how early the call time.
"Ro yaar, chal uth na! Practice ke liye late ho jayega!" Virat teased, banging on the door again.
Rohit groaned, "Vi, tu kabhi nahi sudhrega!"
He swung the door open, revealing a disheveled Rohit with his hair all over the place, looking half-asleep but wearing a half-hearted grin.
"Bhai, ek din mujhe chain se sone dega tu?" Rohit quipped, rubbing his eyes.
Virat slapped him playfully on the back. "Ab kya karein, Hitman, dost ka farz nibhana padta hai!"
Rohit smirked and reluctantly peeled himself out of the bed and shuffled towards the bathroom, his steps still heavy with sleepiness. As he splashed water on his face, he could hear Virat's voice echoing from the bedroom.
"Ro, mujhe ek baat puchni thi" Virat's inquiry cut through the morning calm.
"tu kabse mujhe kuch puchne se pehle permission mangne laga ?" replied Rohit, sounding puzzled from inside the bathroom.
"tu Ritika ke baare mein kya sochta hai?" asked Virat, leaning casually against the bathroom door, curious about Rohit's thoughts on this.
Rohit paused, towel in hand, contemplating his response. "Vi, abhi tak toh bohot kam baat hui hai uske saath. Par lagta hai, kaafi dedicated hai kaam mein."
Virat chuckled knowingly. "Haan, par tujhe woh thoda attitude waali lagti hai na?"
Rohit's brow furrowed slightly as he considered Virat's observation "Tujhe kaise pata?" he asked and continued "Haa maybe. Matlab pata nai yaar, shayad pehli nazar mein galat impression ho."
"Ro, trust me, Rits is a gem," Virat reassured him, his voice earnest. "Tujhe thoda time lagega samajhne mein, par woh bahut achhi ladki hai and she's my cousin, I want you to get along with her ."
Rohit nodded thoughtfully as he came out of the bathroom, taking in Virat's words. "Haan Vi, main bhi yahi soch raha hoon. Aur waise bhi woh kaam me acchi hai toh there won't be a problem. Let's see."
Virat with a frown continued "But ro I want you to be friends"
Ro responded " Arre abhi tune khud bola na ki thoda time jayega, plus we can't force anything na Virat, agar naturally hua dosti toh thik hai otherwise we'll be cordial with each other"
Virat just hummed in response, his frown softening slightly as he absorbed Rohit's words.
With that, Rohit finished getting ready, his mind already turning towards the day's practice and the challenges that awaited them on the field, he also resolved to keep an open mind and give Ritika a fair chance to prove herself. The day ahead promised to be filled with cricket, camaraderie, and perhaps a few surprises along the way.
As they made their way downstairs for breakfast, they bumped into Ritika, who was just stepping out of the elevator.
"Rits, tum yahan?" Virat exclaimed, his face lighting up.
