18 | Truth

I waited until she was far enough. I threw each and every thing I can find within range. My eyes shut , as horror images started to flash in front of me. Broken glass , bleeding face of Grace , her little prank reciprocated on her.
No voice. Nothing.

No sound of glass shattering, I opened my eyes.

A grasp escaped my mouth when I saw Grace alright but the beakers. They were floating in the air , mid -air. Without any support.

I was still thinking about it over and over again when my gaze fell at her eyes. Those beautiful brown eyes were now red bright red..Fear crept inside me , I opened my mouth , closed it , opened it again , but my thoughts were so complicated I can't find right words for what I just saw.

This was so surreal, I wanted to yank myself out of my dream even tho I knew it's reality. It felt like a science fiction drama , but it was real. All the flying objects started moving and settled at their places one by one.

My mind was flooded with questions, even tho I knew it all.

"Ask" Her sudden sharp voice startled me.

"W-what?"

"Just ask whatever you want to know"

So it's true she can really read minds. I was so messed up. I just need space to think about it. To process all this.

"Take your time " Grace said in a soft tone before flashing me a sad smile. Just as I was still collecting the pieces of my conscience she walked away. What just happened?
Am I dreaming or something?

(Grace's POV)

I never heard from him the whole afternoon. Before he showed up at my door at evening. His thoughts were more arranged than before. He knew what he was doing hopefully. The moment I told him my secret, he was stuck , theirs no going back. He must help me , this way or another.

Once we started with the base , from Leo's disappearance to my life in Jacnovia. Every memory was replying in my mind. When my father told me about what happened to Leo

"Sweetheart you remember Leo.?"

I nodded slowly. No one talked about him from past 6th year. Mr.and Mrs.Bennett , the last time I saw them was when Leo disappeared. Mrs.Bennett was a crying mess on the ground , beside my mother , hugging her and crying continuously and Mr.Bennett , he was standing by the window speaking to someone.

They moved to a remote area , laster that year and we never heard from them again. Whenever I tried to talk about them or Leo. My mother would simply change the topic. Dad always told me not bring up this topic ever.

Leo. How can I forget him? My best friend, the only kid who played with me when I had no friends. My first friend. How can I just forget him , he was their daily, and one day he was gone. Where ? No one knows. Atleast I never knew. But now I was going to know about it , my father was telling me. Leo , I wish you were here , this conversation, this whole situation, that Christmas, I wish they never happened. You and me , just us playing by the park and spraying sand at each other , when we first learned Telekinesis. I miss you.

I miss you so much. Leo please come back , please...

Not for me but for Mrs.Bennett , your mom. She misses you , all of us , we miss yo-..

"Grace!" I looked at my father , in front of me , he was on his knees kneeling down and looking at me closely. His eyes were filled with concern. He raised his hand and wipped a tear from my cheek with his thumb. I never realised when I started crying. I was sobbing. Immensely.

My father hugged me and his warmth covered me like a blanket. We stayed their for sometime , until I cried my heart out , that day , He told me about the theory was parallel universe , what must have happened to Leo. I listened to him still sobbing. When he was done he patted my back and bid me a good night before placing a kiss on my forehead and heading out.

That night I layed on my bed , starring blankly at the ceiling , wondering where Leo was. I cried, today , after 6 years.

"It was my first and last time crying after Leo's disappearance. Until yesterday, when that moment triggered me , and cried again after 5 years."

"That's insane. Crying is good for health it realised mental stress. And from you situation you need lots of crying sessions " a small laugh escaped my throat replacing the earlier tension.

But we soon came back to where we were when Kai said "So. You are here today. How?"

"Glitch. It came again after 11 and half year later ,and this time I was the victim " A sad smile played on my lips before continuing "Six months ago, I woke up in a park. I don't know how I came their but I was no longer in my world. And when I saw a complete different , city , people with no extraordinary mental capabilities, the pieces started to fall at their places. An old man was fishing by the lake that day , luckily, he took me to his home , where I met his wife Jane. She took care of my wounds. And kept me with them. I learned the languages and skills of this world in 1 month."

Whoa so many words , my throat was running dry , I grabbed the nearby water bottle and gulped half of it before continuing.

"One day when I was accompanying Jane to the nearby super market , i bumped into a man , his eyes were red at that time. Usually, people who don't have control on their telekinesis, their eyes remain red for several minutes after using the ability. He introduced me to a group of 16 people , who are from other world and had been transported here by the glitch. I started working with them , and in return they payed me. Cause they need a telepath to practice the spell of opening the tike line portal.
Apparently, I needed a place to live, so I applied here in Eden's Academy of Excellence, they took me in 100% scholarship. I payed Jane and her husband and came here. "

"What about your spell?"

"That day on field trip , i bumped into an old man near cafeteria. He is one of us , he slipped the page with spell and necessary instructions in my bag. I have been practicing it since last month. "

I took my jacket off to show him my scars.His face turned whiter than the colour of his off white shirt. He raised his hand to examine the cuts and bruises on my hand. His touch was gentle and soft on my burning skin.

"Wait a minute" He stood up and ran out of the door.

I looked at my self on the corner full length mirror , minor cuts , bruises and the cht on my back that streched from the lower back to my neck.

I am not a nice company , I know that I will destroy everyone around me.

Kai is like Ice on my bruises , but the fire inside me will evaporate him.

He came back with a first aid kit. He treated my wounds one after another for as much time as needed. When he was bandaging my outer injuries, he filled the cracks on my soul as wel , filling the parts I never knew existed, the pieces I lost with time.

I am being selfish to ask this but I am a human as well. I want someone by myside as well. I can't live like this. I know that I am selfish but i want to ask this. I will respect his opinion, if he want to leave than he can but I want adk him to stay so that I don't have regrets in future.

"Kai"

"Hmm?"

"Will you stay after knowing this ?"

He smiled, not just by his lips he smiles with his whole face , sparkling eyes , dimples , and his pure heart.

"Yes. Even if you are against the whole world , I'll be with you. Always. Theirs no getting back."
