After K dropped me off at the hospital I felt way less anxious. How he makes me think drives me insane each time he touches me. I have never been around anyone who acted the way he did. K was a strange person. One minute he would shoot daggers at me and the other he would comfort me when I was not feeling well.

I made my way through the main entrance of the building. The hospital looked more like a hotel than a hospital. In general, it looked much better than I remember it. Probably because I never had a chance to look around and just wanted to go home when I finally got discharged.

The thing that drove me fucking nuts about this place was the lobby which was filled with little trees in the back and very comfortable couches that were placed in the middle for waiting patients to feel relaxed while waiting. This place was just everything I needed, everything I wanted.

" Doctor Adams? " I was startled by the sudden interruption. In front of me was a handsome Chinese man who was supposed to be around thirty years old, " I'm your consultant, you do know what a consultant is, am I wrong? "

" I do know what a consultant is. You're a senior doctor who is responsible for trainees and has to carry the whole team. That much I can remember. You must be Doctor Lu, am I right? " I blinked my eyes at him as if he thought that I graduated from medical school with zero knowledge.

" Well since you know that I do not have to explain more. You have thirty minutes to get ready for spine surgery. here are the details, examine them and come to the 2nd operating room. " after he gave me the documents he smirked and left me standing there in disbelief. The audacity of this man. It's my first day and I already have a complicated surgery to attend. This man must be crazy.

Thirty minutes later

The atmosphere in the operating room was awful. I have never seen anything like that in my entire life. A fifteen-year-old boy was lying on the table with his spine completely out of place. His mouth was filled with tubes to increase his oxygen levels. The file said that the nerve was in a difficult condition. This operation was almost impossible.

I stood next to Doctor Lu with my eyes popped out of my sockets, disbelief written all over my face.

" How are you so confident about this surgery? This guy has like five percent chance of walking again. " I looked at him, still not believing the fact that he had assigned me to this.

" He has a way higher percentage of walking because you are the one who is operating him " he just shrugged his shoulders. My jaw touched the floor.

" Are you kidding me? I have never seen anything like that. I have no experience this is ridiculous. I can't operate him on my own. " I scoffed.

" Vivian, get a hold of yourself. You once removed a tumor from a girl's brain which was too big to be removed without me in the room. Stop talking nonsense and start thinking about the boy's future which is in your hands. " I was too stunned to speak. There was no way I could have possibly done that.

Like Doctor Lu said, I got a hold of myself. I still had no idea how was I supposed to straighten the patient's spine but I knew that my number one priority was to save the nerve. The procedure was difficult as the nerve was wrapped around the bone. Five hours later it was all done. Done but only on my part. The nerve was successfully unwrapped and in good condition. The rest of the work must be completed by a physiatrist.

Since my work for today was done I could finally go home. It was past eleven PM when I finished my paperwork and consultations with the patients. Ming told me that Lu Yue was going to pick me up from work. I didn't know that childish man even had a license. Soon after a blue BMW pulled up in front of me. As the window pulled down Lu Yue's head was in sight.

" Need a ride home, Babygirl? " Lu Yue winked at me.

" Say that again and I will pull your hair out. Don't mess with me. " As I rolled my eyes I got into the car.

" Damn. girl, who fucked up your brain today? Why so grumpy? " He looked at me strangely.

" Just shut up and drive, I'm tired. My head is full of shit you wouldn't understand. " I looked out the window as I put on my seatbelt.

" Yes, ma'am "
