Haeun POV
As the final bell rang, signaling the end of the school day, I settled into the plush leather seats of the limo, waiting for my brother. He was the definition of a social butterfly - always lingering in hallways, chatting with every group he passed. After what felt like an eternity, he finally slid into the vehicle, a grin plastered to his face "took you long enough" I teased, rasing a brow.
He chuckled, ruffling my hair in that annoying brotherly way "fuk off~" he shot back still grinning, we exchanged a few more playful jabs, enjoying the comfort of sibling. But then something from earlier came flooding back into my mind.
"Oh, by the way" I started, the teasing tone droping from my voice "a certain friend of yours tried to make me his new bestie today."
His forehead immediately creased, I could see the tension in his face "Jay" he muttered, clearly already regretting the name.
Realization dawned on his face, and his expression grew serious "I'll talk to him, you need to be careful hae, father might let things slide with Saebi but a boy? He won't allow it."
I nodded, humming thoughtfully as we neared home "I know, I'm careful hee" but his worried frown didn't budge; he bit his lower lip, anxiety etched into every line of his face.
"I just want to protect you" he murmured, his voice tight "I hate the way he handles things" disgust twisted his features, a look I rarely saw from my easygoing brother.
I met his gaze and simply smiled, hoping he'd see the reassurance there "there's nothing we can do hee" I sighed, reaching for the car door but before I could leave, my brother caught my hand, pulling me back.
"Listen Haeun" he said firmly, looking me straight in the eyes "I've been saving up, from my gigs, when my music career finally takes off, I'll get us out of here."
A warm feeling spread through my chest, softening the worries I tried to ignore, I gave him a small smile "well you better work you ass off then."
He laughed, a little spark of hope in his eyes as we climbed out of the limo "of course" he said, giving my hand a gentle squeeze before we parted ways.
I headed to my room in the vast mansion, where everything get as grand as it was empty, sighing, I pulled out my math books, trying to lose myself in equations and problems, anything to quiet my thoughts.
A few hours later, a soft knock on the door interrupted my studying "come in!" I called glancing up, only to meet eyes with my best friend.
"Get in here before father sees you!" I whispered, quickly pulling her inside, she plopped down on my bed with a grin.
"I missed you~" I whined, pulling her into a hug, she laughed, wrapping her arms around me as I snickered.
"Well, I'm sorry, but your brothers cold infected me" Fuko sighed dramatically, rolling her eyes.
"Maybe, just maybe, you shouldn't be shoving your tongue down an I'll persons throat, maybe?" I teased "just a thought."
She burst out laughing, swatting my shoulder playfully, Fuko tossed a laundry basket onto the bed "I brought your clothes, fresh out the dryer."
I hummed, about to reach for the basket but she beat me to it, with a quick, practiced hands, she folded the clothes neatly before placing them in my closet.
"Leave it, I can do it later~" I protested, shaking her head, the young maid sighed "it's my job, have" groaning dramatically, I flopped onto my bed, staring at the ceiling "why can't you just quit and be my full-time bestie instead?"
She chuckled, clearly not falling for my antics "don't think that pays enough" without missing a beat, I threw a sock at her, her face deadpanning.
"So what about the new girl?" I asked, scrunching my nose as I recalled the scene "she almost got fired for putting milk in fathers coffee."
Fuko walked over to the closet, hanging up my dresses "Asa" she muttered "it was her first day, she was fine though....well after spitting in you fathers freshly made coffee."
I raised an eyebrow, a small laugh escaping "honestly, he deserved it" shuffling my bum to sit up, I couldn't help but tease "hows it going with you and my brother by the way? Bored of his ass yet?"
Fuko chuckled softly, shaking her head with a grin "his ass is perfect as ever, he sang me to sleep the other night, god does he have an angelic voice."
I fake-gagged theatrically at the thought of those two being all romantic NARSTY "ugh gross, spare me the details."
Giggling she waved me off "how bout you? Anything new with your little crush?" a teasing smiled spread across the youngest face.
"He's not my crush Fuko, he's attractive, sure but so as like 80% of the world, like you being attractive doesn't mean I wanna jump on ya."
She raised a brow, a cheeky grin forming "oh don't worry babes, Heeseungs just a cover, your who I really want."
Puckering her lips she leaned toward me, I squealed as she got closer, throwing my hands up in mock defense "Fuko stop~!"
The two of us exploded in laughter, but just a we were getting into it, we were interrupted "uh....."
My clueless brother stood there, staring at me and his girlfriend tangled up together "what the fuk?"
Chuckling Fuko stood, smoothing out her maid uniform "hey love" she said planting a quick peck on her boyfriends lips.
I scowled in disgust "ew! Take that shit elsewhere" with a smirk, my brother snaked his around Fukos waist "sorry hae, this ones mine" he said, his gaze softening as he looked down at her. They're Soo perfect for each othe-
Then his lips captured her again, I simply flipped him off, and the couple laughed lightly but very much unfazed.
