After the war against the mindflayers, once things were calm, I traveled with Gale to Waterdeep as his companion and partner. We sailed from Baldur's Gate to his home and the moment our ship docked, Gale let out a deep sigh and grabbed for my hand.

"What's wrong?" I asked, turning to face him. A misty look clouded Gale's face as he beheld the land in front of him.

"I thought I'd never see this place again," He murmured. Gale closed his eyes and shook his head before meeting my gaze. "Let alone you here with me. This is a truly miraculous day."

I squeezed the hand that held mine and we left the boat, carrying what few belongings we had acquired in our vast travels. Gale led me to the east, down the coast, through the gorgeous sandstone buildings and bustling streets. We marched forward together, just as we had always done. After braving the crashing waves and seaside cliffs, Gale and I arrived at what I knew was the tower Gale had been living in ever since he had been cursed by the orb. It was elegant and sturdy, with quite a few windows and balconies jutting out of the single tower.

Just as Gale reached forward to unlock the main doors, I interrupted him.

"Wait!" I exclaimed, stepping out in front of him.

"What?" He asked, incredulous.

"What if Tara doesn't like me? What if she doesn't want another roommate?" I asked jokingly, grinning and teasing the man in front of me.

Gale rolled his eyes. "I'm sure if Tara didn't like you, she would have said so the moment you met on the roof in Rivington. No need to worry, my love."

"If you say so," I chuckled.

We stepped into the tower, and I was immediately welcomed by a warm honeyed scent. Books were scattered haphazardly on every surface. A half empty wine bottle sat on a table in the corner of the room. The walls were a warm brown and with a flick of his hand, the fireplace facing the opposite wall lit itself.

"Looks like we have some work to do," I commented, picking up books and knickknacks as I continued on.

Gale's cheeks were ruddy. "Yes, well, kindly remember that I was in a bit of a state the last time I was here. Trying to escape the life-threatening orb consuming my very being while hiding from my patron goddess tends to messy a man's life."

Gale led me through the tower, and we made our way to the top where his chambers were. There was a four-poster bed, neatly made, and a balcony that faced the west. The room itself held two different bookshelves, both made from a beautiful Mahagony. There was a chess table, a faded purple rug, and scrolls upon scrolls lying about. It was so wonderfully Gale that I had to crack a smile.

"Well, now that you've seen it all, what do you think?" Gale asked, dropping his sack of things and circling the room with open arms.

"It's all very you," I said. "Almost exactly what I had expected."

Gale came to me and wrapped his arms around my waist. "It all belongs to you now. This tower, my magic, my heart, my soul, even my wine if you want it," he murmured, leaning in to press a kiss to my cheek.

"Thank you," I whispered back. I tilted my chin up to catch his lips with mine in a soft kiss. Gale's hands tightened around me, pulling me close, and I reached up and linked my arms behind his neck.
