3rd person POV:
"I- " Jungkook was about to say something when seonghee's ringtone blared loudly and she furrowed her eyebrows when she noticed who it was, she got up from the couch and picked the call up immediately.
"Hello?" She let out.
"Hello. This is Kim Seonghee, right? Kim taehyung's wife?" A polite man asked and the woman nodded but bit her tongue when she realised he couldn't see that so she replied-
"Yes, that would be me. What happened?" She sounded a little concerned because why would his workplace call him all of a sudden, her heart beating a little loudly in her chest.
"It's been 2 days since taehyung hasn't shown up for work without any prior notice, could you please ask him to contact us as soon as possible?" The man, who was the head of taehyung's department and also his close friend told her which just made her frown deeper.
No matter what, he never skips a work day then why?
"Yes ofcourse. I'll talk to him and get back to you as soon as possible, mr.lee." she said and the call was cut off soon and immediately she went inside the room she was staying in to grab a jacket and came outside.
"Jungkook, could you drive me back right now? You don't have to come inside if you don't want to." Seonghee requested the man who didn't question her and went to grab a jacket as well as the car keys right away and signalled her to come outside and get in the car.
"What happened?" He asked only when they were seated and had hit the road.
"I don't know yet. Taehyung's phone has been switched off for the last 2 days and he hasn't gone to work either. That never happens. No matter how bad of a night he has had, he always managed to leave for work so it's really worrying that he hasn't in 2 days." That was all she said before silence enveloped them and soon, the car was stopping outside her house and she rushed out, with jungkook following her. He couldn't help but worry too.
"Taehyung? Taehyung-ah? Are you there?" She called out the moment she entered the passcode and entered inside the house but stopped in her tracks and gasped when she saw the man, jungkook standing right beside her.
Before she could even react, the man quickly rushed by Taehyung's side and laid him down on the couch. The elder man was sleeping? No. He was unconscious and curled up on the floor between the couch and the coffee table and he was hugging something to his chest.
He was pale, his lips chapped up and god knows how long had he been unconscious in the same place for because he was still wearing the same clothes from that day and his face had dried streaks of the tears.
When seonghee went to get some water from the kitchen after finally snapping out of it, jungkook crouched down beside him and pulled the thing that taehyung was clutching in his embrace.
It was a picture of jungkook and him. A selfie that jungkook had wanted to take when they were cuddling in his bed after some activities and after much convincing taehyung had agreed but jungkook had scolded him later for not looking into the camera and 'ruining the picture' but now that he looks at it carefully, he can see how the elder was looking at him instead. There's a small but genuine smile on his lips and he's staring so.. fondly at jungkook while the younger is smiling brightly with his teeth showing and making a peace sign, both of them are shirtless but only their shoulders showing in the picture.
A nostalgic chuckle left his lips when he looked at the printed picture and remembered a memory. He had once found taehyung printing all the pictures they had had together on his own and jungkook had been confused because why go through all this when you can have them in your phone as it is but taehyung had smiled and instantly taken a photo of him on the spot with the same confused expression he had and printed it right away.
